No Luck At The Horse Track Marlon was sitting quietly readingthe STAR Newspaper one morning, peacefully enjoying himself, when hiswife sneaks up behind him and wackshim on the back of his head with ahuge frying pan. Marlon yelled out, "What was thatfor?" His wife screamed at him, "Whatwas that piece of paper in yourpants pocket with the nameMarylou written on it?" Thinking for a second, Marlon

decided to say, "Oh honey, remember two weeks ago when Iwent to the horse races?, Marylouwas the name of one of the horseI bet on." His Wife looked all satisfied andgoes off to work around the house. Three days later he is once againsitting in his chair reading and sherepeats the frying pan swatting. Marlon screamed in pain, "Whatthe hell was that for this time?" "Your horse called."

Husband sent a text to wife atnight, "Hi babe I will get late, pleasetry and wash all my dirty clothesand make sure you preparemy favourite dish before Ireturn." He sent another text, "Babe I

Text Messagesforgot to tell you that I got anincrease in my salary at the endof the month I'm getting you a newcar" She text back, "OMG really?" Husband replied, "No I justwanted to make sure you got myfirst message."

We’re Going To Be Three A newlywed wife said to herhusband when he returnedfrom work, "I have great news foryou. Pretty soon, we're going tobe three in this house instead oftwo." Her husband ran to her with a

Ten Ways To Ruin A Relationship1. Be critical. Even "constructive" criticism can make your partnerdefensive and reduce the feeling of safety in a relationship. Being harsh andjudgmental when angry can trigger a "flight or fight response."

2. Insist your partner be exactly the same as you. Hendrix and LaKelly Huntsay "absolute compatibility" is an express route to a dull relationship. Ifyou insist your partner have the same feelings and perceptions as you do, itcan lead to despair and misery.

3. Flee from intimacy. If you habitually avoid being physically or emotionallyclose with your partner through escaping into work, hobbies, television, orother activities, you risk creating a divide between you and your partner thatmay become impossible to breach.

4. Play the blame game. Using "you" language when upset will make yourpartner put up their defenses. When your goal is to communicate in a way thatfosters intimacy, use statements that begin with "I feel" instead.

5. Bargain. Hendrix and LaKelly Hunt say that both "giving conditionallyand receiving cautiously" erode relationships. They warn against doingsomething for a partner only when you want something in exchange.

6. Be casual about romance. No relationship can be spontaneously joyfulforever. Once the initial excitement of a new romance wears off, some couplesthink their relationship is over and give up trying. They risk missing out onexperiencing a deeper kind of love.

7. Focus on the negative. If you constantly think and talk about your partner'sflaws it can amplify your discontent. Hendrix points out that a paradox of mostforms of couples therapy is that you spend your sessions complaining aboutyour partner—something that can actually be detrimental to your relationship.

8. Refuse to listen. Thinking you are the right all the time and engaging in aone-way monologue is a great way to end up in a relationship…of one, warnLaKelly Hunt and Hendrix.

9. Hide your needs. If you don't express what you need and want to yourpartner, you'll constantly feel deprived and frustrated. Hendrix and LaKellyHunt say it's crucial share "the things that truly touch your heart."

10. Expect a fairytale romance. Fairy tales are just that and eventually we allhave to come down to earth. Demanding the fantasy go on forever preventsyour partner from ever being their authentic self and fosters resentment anddistance.
