Princess of Tamaran

Page 2: Starfire by Ashley Hardin

Almost all Tamaranians, such

as Starfire, are able to fly.

Due to Psion

experimentation on her and

her siblings, she’s able to

shoot bolts of solar energy,

labeled “starblots,” from her

hands.

Like flight, language assimilation via physical contact is common on Tamaran. She prefers using lip-to-lip contact as it’s more fun for her.

She also has superhuman strength.

Her parents’ names are Myand’r and Luand’r.

They are king and queen of Tamaran.

She has two siblings, a brother named

Ryand’r and a sister named

Komand’r, meaning Darkfire and

Blackfire, respectively. Blackfire has a

tremendous grudge against Starfire for taking

her place as rightful heiress to the throne.

She was married to two men over the course

of the series: Prince Karras, and General

Phy’zzon. Both of them died in battle.

Her most notable romance was with Dick

Grayson, AKA Robin, AKA Nightwing. When

she kissed him in order to learn English, he

instantly fell in love with her and the two

had a relationship throughout much of the

series. They even attempted to get

married, but the wedding was interrupted by

Raven’s evil persona.

Blackfire was meant to be next in line for the throne, but as she couldn’t fly, the title of heiress fell to Starfire. Angry, Blackfirejoined the Citadel and invaded Tamaran. In order to ensure peace, Myand’r and Luand’rhanded Starfire over to them.

Starfire and Blackfire were

experimented upon and given the ability

to channel solar energy into starbolts.

Eventually, Starfire broke free from

her captors and flew to Earth and

joined the Teen Titans.

Starfire is very optimistic and loyal. She will

go to the ends of the earth for the sake of

her friends and family.

She’s also rather uninhibited, as is the way of

Tamaranians.

From what I gather, I can’t narrow down any

specific weakness for her.

In the television series, her weakness was

her mindset. Her powers were fueled by her

emotions: flight by happiness, starbolts by

anger, and super strength by confidence. Not

being in the mindset to feel these emotions

easily puts her at a severe disadvantage.

The New Teen Titans series has quite a bit of

Starfire plots. No specific ones come to mind

off the top of my head, though.

I hate her recent

portrayals SO MUCH
