Overview

• Since it’s origination in 1965, SOP’s forReclamation dams, reservoirs, power facilities,and other structures, have provided acomprehensive single-source manual andestablishes procedures to be used in theoperation and maintenance of Reclamationsfacilities.

Designers’ Operating Criteria

Most facilities have been provided with a DOC -written based on facility general design. It’s anarrative on facility construction and installedequipment. This document typically contains thedesign intent of the entire installation.

It is recommended that the writer/preparer ofreclamation SOP’s use a Designers’ Operating Criteria,Design Summary, Performance Parameters TechnicalMemorandum (TM), and any manufacturer’s instructionswhen preparing to write the Standing OperatingProcedures.

Standing OperatingProcedures

Reclamation practice is to use the DOC asthe core reference with specifics comingfrom drawings and equipment referencemanuals.

The SOP is a detailed, stand alonedocument for operations.
