1 Purpose Formål

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a normative document, publishedby the International Association for Research and Testing in the fieldof Textile Ecology (OEKO-TEX®) to which the institutes listed in Ap-pendix No. 1 belong to.

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® er et retningsgivende dokument ud-givet af International Forening til Forskning og Prøvning på områdetTextiløkologi (OEKO-TEX®), som institutterne, der er anført i Appen-diks 1, tilhører.

If there is a discrepancy in interpretation of the two languages inthis document, then the German (or English) language has priority.

This Standard specifies the general and special conditions for grant-ing authorisation to mark textiles with the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® mark as shown in Appendix No. 2.

2 Applicability Anvendelse

This standard is applicable for textile and leather products and arti-cles of all levels of production, including textile and non-textile ac-cessories.

Denne standard kan anvendes til tekstil- og læderprodukter samtartikler heraf på alle produktionstrin, indbefattet tilbehør af tekstilematerialer såvel som af ikke-tekstile materialer.

This standard is also applicable to mattresses, feathers and downs,foams, upholstery and other materials with similar characteristics

Denne standard kan også benyttes for madrasser, fjer og dun,skum, polstermaterialer og andre materialer med lignende karakte-ristika .

This standard is not applicable for chemicals, auxiliaries and dyes. Denne standard kan ikke anvendes til kemikalier, hjælpemidler, far-vestoffer og -pigmenter.

3 Terms and definitions Begreber og definitioner

3.1 Harmful substances Skadelige stoffer

Harmful substances within the context of this standard refer to sub-stances which may be present in a textile product or accessory andexceed a maximum amount or which evolve during normal and pre-scribed use and exceed a maximum amount, and which may havesome kind of effect on people during normal and prescribed use andmay, according to current scientific knowledge, be injurious to hu-man health.

Skadelige stoffer, indenfor denne standards ramme, henfører til stof-fer, som overskrider en bestemt mængde i et tekstilprodukt eller entilbehørsdel, eller som afgiver mere en fastlagt mængde under nor-mal hensigtsm æ ssig brug og har en eller anden effekt på menne-sket gennem normal brug og ifølge den nuværende viden kan væreskadelig for menneskers sundhed og helbred.

3.2 STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® mark STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® mærket

The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® mark "Confidence in Textiles -Tested for harmful substances according to STANDARD 100 byOEKO-TEX®" refers to marking which may be applied to a textileproduct or to an accessory if the general and special conditions forgranting authorisation are fulfilled and if authorisation to use thismark on a product has been granted by an institute or an authorisedcertification agency (Appendix 1) belonging to the International As-sociation for Research and Testing in the field of Textile Ecology(OEKO-TEX®).

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® mærket: ”TILTRO TIL TEKSTILER –Testet for sundhedsskadelige stoffer efter STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®” henfører til mærkning, som må anvendes på et tekstilpro-dukt eller en tilbehørsdel, såfremt de generelle og specielle betin-gelser for tilladelsen er opfyldt, og såfremt tilladelsen til anvendelseaf dette mærke på et produkt er bevilget af et institut eller et autori-seret certificeringsagentur (Appendiks 1), som tilhører InternationalForening til Forskning og Prøvning på området Textiløkologi (OEKO-TEX®).

The mark "Confidence in Textiles - Tested for harmful substancesaccording to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®" states that themarked product fulfils the conditions specified in this standard, andthat the product and its conformity test, as specified in this stand-ard, are under the supervision of an institute belonging to the Inter-national Association for Research and Testing in the field of TextileEcology (OEKO-TEX®).

Mærket ”TILTRO TIL TEKSTILER – Testet for sundhedsskadeligestoffer efter STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®” indikerer, at det mær-kede produkt opfylder de betingelser, der er specificeret i dennestandard. The mark "Confidence in Textiles - Tested for harmful substancesaccording to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®" is not a quality label.The mark relates only to the as-produced state of the textile andsays nothing about other properties of the product such as e.g. fit-ness for use, reaction to cleaning processes, physiological behav-iour in respect of clothing, properties relating to use in buildings,burning behaviour etc. Furthermore the mark does not declare any-

thing regarding other quality or legal aspects, such as product safe-ty, and other characteristics (construction, cords, electrical wiring…).

The mark does not declare anything about harmful substances af-fecting single specimens of the marked textile as a result of damageduring transportation or storing (and improper cleaning proceduresthereafter), contamination caused by packaging, manipulation forsales promotion (e.g. perfuming) and inadequate sales display (e.g.outdoor presentation).

Mærket siger heller ikke noget om skadelige stoffers indvirkning påenkelte stykker af den mærkede vare som følge af skade undertransport eller på lager (og efterfølgende forkert renholdelses-be-handling), forurening grundet emballage eller salgsfremmende for-anstaltninger (f.eks. parfumering) og uhensigts-mæssig salgsudstil-ling (f.eks. udendørs i gade).

In line with its importance the sign „Confidence in Textiles – Testedfor harmful substances according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®“ is protected comprehensively as a trademark. On a world-wide basis there are applications or registrations of the label as atrademark. To strengthen its legal protection not only the label assuch, but also various device elements (e.g. the globe device ele-ment) and the words Oekotex, Oeko-tex®, or OEKO-TEX® are reg-istered as separate trademarks.

Mærket ”TILTRO TIL TEKSTILER – Testet for sundhedsskadeligestoffer efter STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®” er beskyttet som va-remærke. På verdensplan er denne mærkning ansøgt eller alle-rederegistreret som et beskyttet mærke. For at forstærke den retsligebeskyttelse er det ikke kun mærket som helhed, men også forskelli-ge delelementer (f.eks. globus-delen) og ordene Oekotex, OEKO-TEX® eller OEKO-TEX®, der er selvstændigt beskyttet.

3.3 Manufacturer Producent

The manufacturer of a textile product and/or of accessories for thetextile product is the company producing the product or the compa-ny on behalf of which the product is being manufactured.

Producenten af tekstilproduktet og/eller tilbehøret til et tekstilpro-dukt er den virksomhed, der producerer produktet eller på hvis or-dre produktionen iværksættes.

3.4 Distributor Forhandler

The distributor of a textile product and/or of accessories for thetextile product refers to the company selling the product as whole-sale dealer or retailer (department stores, mail-order houses, etc.).

Forhandler af tekstilproduktet og/eller tilbehør til et tekstilprodukt eren virksomhed, der sælger produktet enten som grossist eller somdetailforhandler (varehuse, postordrefirmaer, etc.).

3.5 Designation of product Betegnelse for produktet

The designation of the product is the name given by the manufac-turer or distributor on his labelling of the product.

Betegnelsen for produktet er det navn eller den benævnelse, somproducent eller forhandler benytter for det produkt, der skal mær-kes.

3.6 Article group Artikelgruppe

An article group is basically a combination of several articles in agroup which may be covered in the same certificate, e.g.

En artikelgruppe er grundlæggende en sammenfatning af enkelt-ar-tikler, som kan samles i samme certifikat, f.eks.

• Textiles with physical differences only, made from well definedbasic materials

• Tekstiler, der udelukkende har fysiske forskelle og er fremstilletud fra definerede udgangsmaterialer

• Articles which are physically composed of certified products only • Artikler, der er fysisk sammensat af udelukkende certificeredeprodukter

• Finished textiles from the same kind of fibre material (for examplethose made from cellulosic fibres, mixtures of PES and CO, ofsynthetic fibres, etc.)

3.7 Product classes Produktklasser

A product class in the context of this standard is a group of differentarticles categorised according to their (future) utilisation. In the dif-ferent product classes not only may finished articles be certified butalso their components at all stages of manufacture (fibres, yarns,fabrics) and accessories. The product classes differ generally in therequirements that the products have to fulfil and by the test meth-ods applied.

En produktklasse er efter denne standards betydning en grupperingaf forskellige artikler med hensyntagen til deres (kommende) anven-delses område. 3.7.1 Products for babies (Product Class I) Produkter for babyer (produktklasse I)

3.7.2 Products with direct contact to skin (Product Class II) Produkter med hudkontakt (produktklasse II)

Articles with direct contact to skin are those, which are worn with alarge part of their surface in direct contact with the skin (e.g. blou-ses, shirts, underwear, matressses etc.).

3.7.3 Products without direct contact to skin (Product ClassIII)

Produkter uden hudkontakt (produktklasse III)

Articles without direct contact to skin are those, which are wornwith only a little part of their surface in direct contact with the skin(e.g. stuffings, etc.)

3.7.4 Decoration material (Product Class IV) Boligindretnings- og dekorationsmaterialer (produktklasse IV)

Decoration material in the context of this standard are all articles in-cluding initial products and accessories which are used for decora-tion such as table cloths, wall coverings, furnishing fabrics and cur-tains, upholstery fabrics, and floor coverings.

Boligindretnings- og dekorations-materialer er efter denne stan-dards betydning alle artikler, forprodukter og tilbehør, som er bereg-net til boligindretnings- og dekorationsformål som f.eks. duge, teks-til væg-beklædning, gardiner og forhæng, møbelstoffer og tekstilegulvbelægninger.

3.8 Active chemical products Aktive kemiske produkter

Active chemical products in the context of this standard are all prep-arations that are incorporated into the fibre material or are applied ina later processing step to the textile product. Special requirementsfor the use of this kind of products exist for following definitions.

Aktive kemiske produkter er efter denne standards betydning allepræparationer, der er indlejret i fibermaterialet eller påført tekstil-produktet på et senere tidspunkt. Særlige krav for brugen af sådan-ne produkter gælder for de efterfølgende definerede begreber.

3.8.1 Biological active products Biologisk aktive produkter

Biological active products in context of this standard are those ac-tive chemical products that are used with the intention to destroy,deter, render harmless, prevent the action of, or otherwise exert acontrolling effect of any organism by chemical or biological means.

Biologisk aktive produkter er efter denne standards betydning deaktive produkter, der er anvendt med den hensigt ad kemisk ellerbiologisk vej at ødelægge, bekæmpe, uskadeliggøre, forhindre virk-ningen af eller på anden måde udøve en kontrollerende effekt på enhvilken som helst organisme.

3.8.2 Flame retardant products Flammehæmmende produkter

Flame retardant products in context of this standard are those activechemical products that are used with the intention to reduce theflammability and/or combustibility.

Flammehæmmende produkter er efter denne standards betydningde aktive kemisk produkter, der er anvendt med den hensigt atmindske antændeligheden og/eller brændbarheden.

4 Conditions Betingelser

4.1 Product specific requirements Produktspecifikke krav

In addition to the general requirements for certification according toSTANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, the product specific requirements,given in Appendix 4, have to be fulfilled by each component. Thisapproach is also valid for untypical textile products such as furni-ture, cradles, pushchairs, beds, and so on.

Ud over de generelle krav for certificering i henhold til STANDARD100 by OEKO-TEX® skal de produktspecifikke krav anført i appen-diks 4 være opfyldt for alle bestanddele. Denne fremgangsmådegælder også for atypiske tekstilprodukter, som møbler, vugger, bar-nevogne, senge o.s.v.

For new or more severe requirements an interim arrangement isvalid until 1 st of April 2016.

For nye eller skærpede krav er der en overgangsfrist for ikrafttrædenindtil 1. april 2016.

4.2 Requirements regarding the use of biological activeproducts

Krav med hensyn til anvendelsen af biologisk aktive produkter

When using biological active products it is distinguished between fi-bre materials where the biological active agents are incorporated in-to the fibres and a treatment of textiles with biological active prod-ucts in a later processing step.

Ved anvendelse af biologisk aktive produkter skelnes der mellem fi-bermaterialer, hvor den biologisk aktive bestanddel er indlejret iselve fibrene, og en behandling af tekstiler med biologisk aktive pro-dukter i et senere produktionstrin.

4.2.1 Fibre materials with biological active properties Fibre med biologisk aktive egenskaber

Fibre materials with biological active properties are accepted for acertification according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® when anassessment by OEKO-TEX® reveals, that these fibres may be usedfrom a human-ecological point of view without any restrictions.

Fibre med biologisk aktive egenskaber kan accepteres til certifice-ring i henhold til STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® hvis OEKO-TEX®prøvning og bedømmelse viser, at disse fibre ud fra et human-øko-logisk synspunkt kan anvendes uden nogen begrænsninger.

4.2.2 Finish with biological active products Finish med biologisk aktive produkter

Finishes with biological active products are accepted within a certifi-cation according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® when a thor-ough assessment by OEKO-TEX® from a human-ecological point ofview has shown that the finish carried out according to the recom-mendations of the manufacturer of the product are harmless to thehuman health.

4.3 Requirements regarding the use of flame retardantproducts

Krav med hensyn til anvendelsen af flamme-hæmmende produkter

When using flame retardant products it is distinguished between fi-bre materials which receive the flame retardant properties in thespinning mass already (copolymers, additives) and a finish withflame retardant products in a later processing step.

Ved anvendelse af flammehæmmende produkter skelnes der mel-lem fibre, der allerede i spindmassen har fået sine flammehæm-mende egenskaber (copolymerer, additiver) og finish med flamme-hæmmende produkter, påført i senere produktionstrin

4.3.1 Fibre materials with flame retardant properties Fibre med flammehæmmende egenskaber

Fibre materials with flame retardant properties are accepted for acertification according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, productclasses I to IV, when an assessment by OEKO-TEX® reveals, thatthese fibres may be used from a human-ecological point of viewwithout any restrictions.

Fibre med flammehæmmende egenskaber kan accepteres til certi-ficering i henhold til STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, produktklas-serne I til IV, hvis OEKO-TEX® prøvning og bedømmelse viser, atdisse fibre ud fra et human-økologisk synspunkt kan anvendes udennogen begrænsninger.

4.3.2 Finish with flame retardant products Finish med flammehæmmende produkter

Finishes with flame retardant products are accepted within a certifi-cation according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, productclasses I to IV, when a thorough assessment by OEKO-TEX® from ahuman-ecological point of view has shown that the finish carried outaccording to the recommendations of the manufacturer of the prod-uct are harmless to the human health.

Finish med flammehæmmende produkter kan accepteres til certifi-cering i henhold til STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, produktklasser-ne I til IV, hvis en omfattende human-økologisk bedømmelse efterOEKO-TEX® viser, at tekstiler, der er finish-behandlede i overens-stemmelse med anvisningerne fra producenten af det flammehæm-mende produkt, ikke er betænkelige for den menneskelige sundhed.

4.4 Application Ansøgning

The application for the granting of authorisation to use the STAND-ARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® mark has to be made in writing on the re-spective application form to an institute or a certification agency ofthe International Association for Research and Testing in the field ofTextile Ecology (OEKO-TEX®). (See Appendix 1).

Ansøgning om bevilling af tilladelse til anvendelse af OEKO-TEX®mærkning skal fremsendes skriftligt, ved brug af OEKO-TEX ansøg-ningsskema, til et institut eller certificeringsagentur, der tilhører In-ternational Forening til Forskning og Prøvning på området Textiløko-logi (OEKO-TEX®), (se appendiks 1).

4.5 Sample material Prøvemateriale

For test purposes and as a reference the applicant should provide asufficient and representative sample of the product submitted forcertification. This is also the case for an application for renewal ofthe certificate.

Til prøvning og referenceprøver må ansøgeren stille tilstrækkeligt ogrepræsentativt prøvemateriale til rådighed af det produkt, der skalmærkes. Dette gælder også ved ansøgning om forlængelse af etcertifikat.

The packing instruction should be observed (see Appendix 3). Retningslinierne for emballering skal overholdes (se appendiks 3).

4.6 Declaration of commitment Forpligtigelseserklæring

The applicant's declaration of commitment together with the appli-cation form are to be duly signed and must contain the followingpoints:

Ansøgeren skal udstede en forpligtigelseserklæring, der skal bæreen bemyndiget underskrift og anføre følgende:

• Liability for the details specified in the application.

• Commitment to notify the body, who granted the authorisation touse the mark, of any alteration regarding raw materials, technicalprocedures and recipes.

• Commitment to ensure that no further marking of the producttakes place after the expiration or withdrawal of the authorisationto use the mark.

• Forpligtigelse til at sikre, at der ikke foretages yderligere mærk-ning af produktet efter udløbsdatoen eller tilbagetrækning af tilla-delsen til at anvende mærket.

4.7 Testing Prøvning

The sample material provided by the applicant, and likewise speci-mens taken at the place of manufacture, are tested by the instituteconcerned. Type and scope of testing are determined by theinstitute and depend on the type of product and on the informationabout the product, provided by the applicant.

Prøvematerialet, der er fremsendt af ansøgeren og ligeledes prøverudtaget på fabrikationsstedet afprøves af det institut, der er indgåetaftale med. Prøvningernes art og omfang fastlægges af instituttet ogafhænger af produkttypen og af ansøgerens informationer om pro-duktet.

Test specimens having a non product typical odour (for example fra-grance/perufme) or an odour indicating faulty manufacture, will beexcluded from testing and no authorisation to mark these productswith the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® mark will be granted.

Prøveemner, der afgiver en ikke produkttypisk lugt (f.eks. duft/parfume) eller en lugt som indikerer produktionsfejl, vil blive udeluk-ket fra prøvningen, og der vil ikke kunne bevilliges STANDARD 100by OEKO-TEX®-mærkningstilladelse for produktet.

In general all individual components of an article have to be tested. Principielt skal alle de enkelte bestanddele af en artikel testes.

Fibre compositions of samples may be cross-checked qualitativelyagainst information from the application, related documents anddeclarations. These tests are charged to the applicant.

If the test of a component weighing less than 1 % of the total articleis not possible due to the limited amount contained in the article,then the institute decides on its own competence, taking into con-sideration the kind of article and its use, whether additional testingmaterial has to be sent in or whether the test can be dropped. Thedecision of the institute is not contestable.

Hvis prøvning af en komponent, der vejer mindre end 1% af den to-tale artikel, ikke er mulig på grund af den begrænsede mængde, derer til rådighed i artiklen, er det instituttets ansvar at afgøre – idet dertages hensyn til artiklens art og anvendelsesområde – om der skalindkaldes yderligere prøvemateriale eller om en prøvning kan undla-des. Instituttets afgørelse kan ikke anfægtes.

4.8 Quality control Kvalitetsovervågning

The applicant shall describe to the institute the precautions he hastaken within his company to ensure that all products manufacturedand/or sold for which the authorisation to use the mark „Confidencein Textiles - Tested for harmful substances according to STANDARD100 by OEKO-TEX®“ has been granted fulfil the conditions of theSTANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® in the same way as the samplesthat have been sent to the institute and based on those tests the au-thorisation has been granted. The applicant shall issue a declarationof conformity in accordance with ISO 17050-1 stating that the prod-ucts manufactured and/or sold by him fulfils the conditions in theSTANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

Over for instituttet har ansøgeren pligt til at fremføre hvilke forholds-regler, der er iværksat for at sikre, at de fremstillede og/eller solgteprodukter, som har fået tilladelse til at kunne mærkes ”TILTRO TILTEKSTILER – Testet for sundhedsskadelige stoffer efter STANDARD100 by OEKO-TEX®”, opfylder betingelserne i STANDARD 100 byOEKO-TEX® på samme måde som prøvematerialet, der er frem-sendt til Instituttet og på basis af hvis prøvning tilladelsen er ud-stedt. Ansøgeren skal udstede en overensstemmelses-erklæring(konformitets-erklæring) ifølge ISO 17050-1 med erklæring om, atde fremstillede og/eller solgte produkter opfylder betingelserne iSTANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

4.9 Quality assurance Kvalitetssikring

The applicant shall operate and maintain an effective quality assur-ance system to ensure that products manufactured and/or sold con-form with the test sample, thereby ensuring and proving to theOEKO-TEX® institute that the products, e.g. from different lots or ofdifferent colours, are spot-checked for compliance with the STAND-ARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

Ansøgeren skal anvende og løbende vedligeholde et effektivt kvali-tetsstyringssystem for at sikre, at fremstillede og/eller solgte pro-dukter i hele certificeringens gyldighedsperiode stemmer overensmed prøvematerialet, og således forsikre og bevise overfor OEKO-TEX® Instituttet, at produkterne fra f.eks. forskellige produktions-partier eller i forskellige farver er afprøvet stikprøvevis og opfylderbetingelserne i STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

During the certificate’s period of validity, the institute is authorisedto undertake two random tests on certified products. The testingcosts are chargeable to the certificate holder. If random testing re-veals a deviation from the limit values on which the tests are based,an additional test will be undertaken on a different sample as acheck. The relevant costs are likewise charged to the certificateholder. If further deviations are found, the testing institute may with-draw the authorisation to label products with the STANDARD 100 byOEKO-TEX® mark with immediate effect.

Instituttet er også autoriseret til i løbet af certifikatets gyldighedspe-riode at foretage to stikprøvevise kontrolprøvninger af de certificere-de produkter. Udgifterne til prøvningerne betales af certifikatindeha-veren. I fald den vilkårlige stikprøvning afslører en overskridelse afde gældende grænseværdier, skal der foretages en yderligere af-prøvning af en anden stikprøve. Omkostningerne i forbindelse medsådanne prøvninger skal ligeledes bæres af ansøgeren. Hvis der sta-dig findes afvigelser, kan Instituttet straks inddrage tilladelsen til atmærke produktet med STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® mærket.

Before or shortly after issuing the first certificate the institute willcheck on-site the quality assurance measures in reference to thecertification process according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.The institute is entitled to refuse or withdraw the certificate basedon the results from this audit. The charges of this package arecharged to the certificate holder. Each company needs to bechecked at least in a three year frequency. Companies being certi-fied according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®0/STeP by OEKO-TEX® are audited regularly and in a shorter frequency in the contextof this certification scheme and are therefore exempted from theseadditional checks and contributions.

Før eller kort tid efter udstedelsen af det første certifikat vil institut-tet på lokaliteten kontrollere kvalitetssikrings-elementerne i relationtil certificerings-proceduren i henhold til STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. Instituttet kan på basis af resultaterne af denne audit nægteat udstede et certifikat eller trække et allerede udstedt certifikat til-bage. The applicant acknowledges, that auditors from the OEKO-TEX®Association are allowed to visit and audit the certified company inreference to the certification process according to STANDARD 100by OEKO-TEX®. In case of non-compliance with the STANDARD 100by OEKO-TEX® requirements, the cost for the analytical testing(control tests) and an audit fee have to be paid by the certificateholder.

Ansøgeren accepterer, at auditorer fra den internationale OEKO-TEX® forening har tilladelse til at besøge den virksomhed, der harcertificeringen, og kan kontrollere i relation til hele certificeringspro-cessen i henhold til STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. 4.10 Conformity Overensstemmelse (Konformitet)

The applicant who is either manufacturing or selling goods with anSTANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® mark must take sole responsibilityin declaring that the product manufactured or sold complies with thelimit values for harmful substances according to STANDARD 100 byOEKO-TEX®.

Ansøgeren, der fremstiller eller sælger en OEKO-TEX®-mærket va-re, må påtage sig det fulde ansvar med hensyn til erklæring om, atdet fremstillede eller solgte produkt efterkommer grænseværdiernefor skadelige stoffer ifølge STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

Acknowledgement of the reliability of the quality assurance systemof the applicant is a requirement for granting permission to use theSTANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® mark.

Anerkendelsen af pålideligheden af kvalitetsstyringssystemet på an-søgerens virksomhed er en forudsætning for tilladelsen til at brugeOEKO-TEX® Standard 100 mærket.

The applicant is responsible for assuring the quality of the certifiedproduct. He may delegate parts of the quality assurance to manu-facturers, suppliers and importers. If he does so, again the effective-ness of the quality assurance system should be notified to thetesting institute.

Ansøgeren er ansvarlig for kvalitetssikringen af det certificerede pro-dukt. Ansøgeren kan overdrage til fabrikanter, leverandører og im-portører at gennemføre dele af kvalitetssikringen. Såfremt dette gø-res, skal kvalitetsstyringen også i disse tilfælde over for det certifi-cerende Institut kunne vises at være pålidelig.

The declaration of conformity must be on the conformity declarationform provided by the OEKO-TEX® Association.

Overensstemmelses-erklæringen (konformitets-erklæringen) skal af-gives på OEKO-TEX® Foreningens formular til dette formål.

5 Marking Mærkning

5.1 Granting of authorisation Bevilling af mærkningstilladelse

If all the conditions of this standard are satisfied, if the tests do notdemonstrate any deviations from the details provided by the appli-cant and if the test values do not exceed the given limit values, acertificate will be issued, entitling the applicant to label his productsduring the period of validity with the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®mark.

5.2 Limit of authorisation Varighed af mærkningstilladelsen

A certified article immediately loses its authorisation to be markedwith the OEKO-TEX® mark whenever any professional physical orchemical (incl. washing and cleaning) transformation of the productis performed.

En certificeret artikel mister automatisk tilladelsen til at blive OEKO-TEX® mærket, så snart den får en professionel behandling, fysiskeller kemisk (inklusive vask og rens).

The authorisation to mark a product with the STANDARD 100 byOEKO-TEX® mark is limited to a maximum of one year. During theperiod of validity of the certificate the test standards and limitingvalues relevant at the time of granting the authorisation are valid. Onrequest of the applicant the starting of the authorisation can bepostponed for at most three months from the date of the test report.

Tilladelsen til at mærke et produkt med STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® mærket er begrænset til et maksimum af et år. After the authorisation period of the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®labelling has expired, the certificate holder is entitled to apply for arenewal of the authorisation for another year. The institute deter-mines a reduced testing programme for the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th etc.renewal.

Ved udløbet af STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® mærkningstilladel-sens gyldighed kan certifikatindehaveren ansøge om forlængelse aftilladelsen for yderligere ét år. Instituttet fastlægger et reduceretprøvningsprogram for 1., 2., 4., 5. osv. forlængelse.

The expiry date of the renewed certificate is exactly one year afterthe expiry date of the previous one.

Udløbsdatoen for det forlængede certifikat er nøjagtig ét år efter ud-løbsdatoen for det sidste, udløbne certifikat.

As soon as the conditions stated in the application form are no lon-ger correct, the authorisation to mark the product with the STAND-ARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® labelling expires. This is the case, whenthe institute has not been informed about modifications and cannotconfirm whether the requirements of the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® are still satisfied.

5.3 Withdrawal of authorisation Tilbagetrækning af mærknings-tilladelsen

The authorisation to use the mark will be withdrawn if it is deter-mined by means of production controls, market controls or othermethods that the details given by the applicant are not or no longercorrect or that amendment of the applied technical and/or manufac-turing conditions was not reported immediately.

Hvis det bliver fastslået under produktionskontrol, færdigvarekontrolaf handelsvarer eller på anden måde, at de oplysninger ansøgerenhar givet ikke eller ikke længere er rigtige, eller at ændringer af dentekniske kvalitet og/eller fremstillingsforhold ikke er blevet meddeltomgående, vil tilladelsen til at bruge mærket blive annulleret.

Authorisation will also be withdrawn when the mark does not com-ply with the conditions of this standard.

Tilladelsen vil ligeledes blive trukket tilbage, hvis mærket ikke stem-mer overens med betingelserne i denne standard.

The use of existing advertising materials, displays, labels, etc. islimited to two months from the time of withdrawal.

Anvendelse af eksisterende reklamemateriale, etiketter, mærkater,etc. er begrænset til to måneder efter inddragelsesdatoen.

If a product continues to bear an unauthorised mark after withdraw-al of authorisation, the International Association for Research andTesting in the field of Textile Ecology is – after a second warning toabstain from marking – authorised to publish the withdrawal in asuitable form.

Såfremt et produkt fortsat forsynes uberettiget med mærkningen ef-ter at tilladelsen til mærkning er blevet trukket tilbage, har Internatio-nal Forening til Forskning og Prøvning på området Textiløkologi rettil, efter den anden varsling om at standse mærkningen er blevetudstedt, at offentliggøre tilbagetrækningen af tilladelsen på en pas-sende måde.

Withdrawn certificates can be re-instated only after the cause of thewithdrawal has been corrected and measures taken are documen-ted to the certifying institute. These measures and their implemen-tation are verified by a separate audit within short period after rein-statement. This audit will be charged to the certificate holder sepa-rately.

Tilbagetrukne certifikater kan kun sættes i kraft igen, når årsagen tiltilbagetrækningen er blevet korrigeret, og de trufne forholdsregler erblevet dokumenteret over for det certificerende institut. De trufneforholdsregler og deres implementering verificeres ved en separataudit på lokaliteten inden for kort tid efter, at certificeringen er sat ikraft igen.Omkostningerne til denne audit pålægges certifikatinde-haveren separat.

5.4 Type of marking Mærkningstyper

After authorisation has been granted, the applicant is entitled tomark the product with one or more of the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® marks illustrated in Appendix 2.

The declarations with respect to the certificate number and to thetesting institute are obligatory and must correspond to the respec-tive certificate.

The marks can be produced by the certificate holders on their own,but have to be shown to the certifying institute for approval. This ap-proval is not necessary if the films for the labels are directly orderedfrom an advertising agency authorised by OEKO-TEX®. Further in-formation is available from the institutes.

The packing of test samples should satisfy specific requirements inorder to protect the samples and to guarantee exactness and repro-ducibility of the test results.

Emballeringen af prøvemateriale skal opfylde bestemte kvalitetskravfor at beskytte prøverne og for at sikre korrekte og reproducerbareprøvningsresultater.

Individual samples must be packed in polyethylene foil or polyethy-lene bags of high tensile strength to avoid contamination during thetransport of the goods.

Hver enkelt prøve skal pakkes i polyethylen folie eller i polyethylenposer med høj brudstyrke for at undgå at der sker forurening underforsendelsen.

The packing should if possible be placed in a second wrappingclosed with adhesive tape.

Emballeringen lukkes ved at fordoble indpakningen og lukke tætmed klæbebånd.

Packing of samples in cardboard boxes and/or paper only is not al-lowed.
