Laura Wonnacott is one of the few teachers that gets to work with all of the Longmont Estates Elementary School students every year. It's no wonder that she's one of the most popular teachers with the students, since she gets to know them year after year! You can see how Mrs. Wonnacott has inspired the creativity of our students through the artwork which decorates the halls of our school.

From Mrs. Wonnacott:

I had to do the math a couple of times and I still cannot believe that I have been teaching art here at Longmont Estates for 15 years. Boy, how time flies when you're having fun!

The thing I love the most about teaching are the kids and their families. I enjoy seeing them every day, watching them grow, create, and sharing their smiles and hugs with me. I truly believe that I have the best job anyone could hope for.

A few facts about me are:

• I grew up right here in Longmont. • I attended North Ridge and Mountain View Elementary Schools, Longs Peak Jr. High,

and Longmont High School.

• I met my husband to be in Jr. High. Oh my! • I taught with my 6th grade teacher's wife, Mrs. Gorenstein. She taught P.E. here at LEE

for many years. • I also taught along side a boy I babysat for growing up! Mr. Blick taught 5th grade here

at LEE several years ago. • I have two children Dylan (16) and Emilee (13). What a joy it is to watch them grow.

Parenting is definitely is the hardest job you'll ever love. They are both pretty awesome, if you ask me.

With this said, my advice to my students at LEE would be; to behave, do your best, and mind your manners because it is indeed a very small world. You too could be working and living along side people from your past no matter what you choose to do or where you choose to live.

My first job was life guarding and teaching swim lessons for the City of Longmont. A job I enjoyed for many years.

The best advice I was ever given was to "Love what you do or do something else". Pretty simple I know but it has helped me make some good choices in life.

I would have to say my favorite TV show is the "Sunday Morning Show" with Charles Osgood. The hour and a half show features a little news, history, art, wonderful stories from around the world. What a great way for me to start my day. Cups of coffee, a warm bowl of oatmeal and of course my husband by my side.
