Q: What is your favorite cotton item? Why? A: So many to choose from, but I think it has to be denim. There’s nothing like a great pair of jeans that can be dressed up and still feel super comfortable. T- shirts are a close second. Cotton Board Title: Vice President of Importer Services Elizabeth King 10 QUESTION STAFF SPOTLIGHT Start Date: November 1999 Q: What leadership quality do you admire most in others? Why? A: Confidence. What I’ve noticed about the most effective bosses I’ve had is that they are confident in themselves and in their staff. They are able to give people the leeway to succeed. I’m fortunate to work for someone like that at The Cotton Board. Q: What’s a fun fact about you people may not know? A: When I was in my late 20’s, I got rid of all my worldly possessions, bought a round-the-world plane ticket, and backpacked through the South Pacific, New Zealand, Australia, and Southeast Asia for a year by myself. It not only cemented my love of travel but made me realize I could land just about anywhere and not only survive but thrive. Q: You are stranded on a desert island, what are your three MUST HAVE items? A: An umbrella, a lounge chair, and a margarita machine. Sounds lovely!

Q: What has been the most meaningful project in yourcareer?A: I’m really proud to have been one of the chief organizers of Cotton’sSustainability Summit.
