FR. ALEX WILL BE AWAY at a Diocesan Priest Retreat from Monday, October 1st thru Friday, October 5th. A Com-munion Service will replace Mass during the week and the regular Mass schedule will resume on Saturday, October 6th. …………………………………………………………………. OUR LADY OF FATIMA. Our monthly brown bag lunch series resumes at St. William on Tuesday, October 9th at 11:30AM in the Commons. The title of this next series is FAT-IMA REVISITED and will be led by Jim Quistorff. All mem-bers of both Parishes are invited to join us as we dig further into the events of Fatima and their meaning. …………………………………………………………………. BULLETIN PRAYER LISTS will be purged on September 30th. The Bulletin prayer list contains the names of Parishion-ers and immediate family members in need of prayers, and the e-alert system is for friends and extended family members as well as Parishioners. The Prayers of the Faithful which are read from the altar during Mass are for the most serious ill-nesses of our Parishioners. They are also remembered on the Bulletin Prayer list for each Parish. If you wish your family member to be remembered, it is important that you contact the office. Please respect other’s privacy and be sure you have authorization from the person or their immediate family to place someone on the list. …………………………………………………………………. BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP. Sessions will start at IHM on Wednesday, October 10th at 10AM in the Upstairs Kitchen. Six Sessions will be held ending November 14th. These sessions are meant to be a comfortable, casual and con-fidential way for all who have suffered a loss, to listen and share their experiences. All are welcome. If you are celebrating your silver or golden wedding anniversary this year, please contact the church office if you wish to be includ-ed in the celebration. The Mass will be held on Sunday, No-vember 4, 2018 at St. John Neuman Catholic Church in Char-lotte. Mass begins at 2:30PM and will be followed by a recep-tion. To receive an invitation, please call the Church Office to register. The deadline for registration is September 30th. ………………………………………………………………. PRIEST RETIREMENT. Did you know that the total as-sessed amount to fund the priests’ retirement and benefits pro-gram for 2018 is $1,900,000. The breakdown is as follows: 81% for pension contributions for diocesan priests’ retirement plans and retirement benefits expense for retired diocesan priests’ health plan: 14% for pension contributions for reli-gious order priests’ retirement plans; 3% for administrative fees and 2% for fundraising costs. The amount assessed each parish is 3.5% of their annual offertory income. In most parish-es that amounts to slightly less than two times their regular weekend offertory.
