St Mary’s Catholic Primary, A Voluntary Academy Our Mission Statement “To walk hand in hand with God, loving Him, loving each other and loving ourselves, doing our best with the gifts he gave us to make the world a richer place.” Dear Parent/Carer, Parents’ End of Year Questionnaire (Foundation and whole school) Thank you for all your very positive and constructive comments on these questionnaires. We greatly value your feedback which enables us to evaluate and improve provision for the children of St Mary’s. If you have any issues regarding your child, teachers are always happy to speak to parents/carers at the end of the day, as the beginning of the school day is very busy and we like to make a prompt start. School Council Congratulations to our newly appointed school councillors – Umar, Ruby, Ashton, Niamh, Tahir, Aishat, Emma, Noah, Ewan and Nell. Each class was very democratic and took the voting for their class members very seriously. The new Council will soon be meeting with Mrs Daykin to discuss issues brought to their attention by their individual classes. I would like to thank last year’s Council for being so very pro- active in all aspects of school life. Congratulations Well done to Jameela Howell whose new track `Hype` has just made it onto BBC East Midlands Introducing music. This is fantastic news for Jameela. Harvest You are invited to attend the Harvest Festival Assembly on Thursday 6th October at 9:15am. We would be very grateful to receive donations of tinned foods, fresh fruit and vegetables. The children can bring these into school at any time. This year, half the donations will be distributed to nominated senior citizens and the remaining goods will be given to St Paul’s Soup Kitchen in Lenton. If you know of anyone locally who would like to receive a harvest gift, please complete the Harvest Gift form at the school office. We are also asking that you send your child to school wearing their brightest clothes and accessories that day. In order to raise money to send to CAFOD we would like children to give up one treat for the day e.g. chocolates or biscuits, and bring the money they would have spent to put in our collection.

Yours sincerely
