Vocation Matters-25th December – The Nativity of our Lord “The Word was made flesh, he lived among us” (John 1:14)

Facebook, SnapChat, Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram. The list of ways we can share news with each other is growing. Communication may be developing but one news story transcends all forms of media. That Christ was born of Mary, and that through Him we find new life and purpose, is news that can and wants to infiltrate all lives. Christ, dwelling in our hearts, wants us to make sure that we share with all our followers, the true reason for this feast, so that they may become his followers, or at least experience his peace at this blessed time. #share the joy

1st January – Solemnity of Mary the Mother of God “Mary…treasured all these things in her heart.” (Luke 2:19)

“A penny for your thoughts” was a request often made to medieval pilgrims, who were seen as possessing special spiritual wisdom. When we spend time to contemplate in our heart the mystery of the Incarnation, a picture of how we might serve the living God may rise up in our minds. Pondering like Mary, our vocation may then spring forth and catapult us forward in our walk with Jesus. So cultivate that space as this new year begins. Then, when offered, “A penny for your thoughts”, your response may be to share an insight into your calling.
