The Collection for Charity will be taken up at next weekend’s Masses, October 5-6, to support the charitable works of the parish, including the services of the Soci-ety of St. Vincent de Paul. Your generous participation is requested.

Quinceañera Classes will begin on Sun-day, October 27th 2013. This is a series of four classes which will meet on Sundays starting on October 27, & November 3,

10, & 17th at 2:00p.m. in the Rectory. Young ladies wishing to celebrate their Quinceañera in the next months should attend these classes. It is necessary to participate in all four classes and also participate of Holy Hour on November 7th at 7:00pm in the Church in order to com-plete the course. Please pre-register at the Parish office any day Monday – Friday. Registration fee is $50. For more infor-mation, contact Marisela Linan in the Parish Office.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults—R.C.I.A.—has begun. If you have family members, friends, neighbors, or co-workers who have expressed an interest in knowing more about the Catholic faith or about becoming Catholic, extend to them a kindly and generous invitation to par-ticipate in R.C.I.A. and put them in con-tact with Deacon Mike Collins at the par-ish office—466-7031. R.C.I.A. meets each Wednesday, at 7:00 p.m. in Old St. Paul’s.

Capstone Missions Fall Fiesta will be at St. Mark’s in Boise October 12th. The evening will be filled with delicious food from El Gallo Giro of Boise, live, silent and dessert auction, all to support a great cause. Dinner tickets are available for $25/person or $40/couple. The Knights of Columbus Father Harry T. Hayes SM Assembly 1990 will be holding a Columbus Day Dinner on Octo-ber 12, 2013 at the Columbian Center in Nampa. Dinner will consist of spaghetti and meatballs/sausage, salad, garlic bread and dessert. A free will offering donation will be taken up at the entrance. The hours will be 5pm to 8:30 pm. St. Joseph’s Pastoral Council will meet on Monday, October 7th, feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, at 7:30 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Church in Melba.

The Second Sunday Second Collection will be taken up at next weekend’s Masses, October 12-13, in support of St. Paul’s Religious Education Program. Let us strengthen our religious education with a generous participation in this collection.

The Diocesan Capital Campaign Re-port: Parish families continue to come for-ward with gifts or pledges to the Diocesan Capital Campaign. The most recent campaign report is: St. Paul’s: 1st goal—$64,817, campaign goal—$386,153; 167 families have given/pledged $248,345 (64% of campaign goal); St. Paul’s share now at $73,411 St. Joseph’s, Melba: 1st goal—$4,772, campaign goal—$26,440; 30 families have given/pledged $33,313 (126% of campaign goal); St. Joseph’s share now at $13,822 Our Lady Queen of Heaven, Oreana, 1st goal—$589, campaign goal—$4,183 6 families have given/pledged $3,190 (76% of campaign goal); Our Lady Queen of Heaven’s share now at $1,040. Join the 203 Catholic families of our par-ish and the 6,385 Catholic families from throughout Idaho who have participated in the Diocesan Capital Campaign giving or pledging almost $12.7 million to help provide for the future of our Church in Idaho. Why not help St. Paul’s or Our Lady Queen of Heaven follow the exam-ple of St. Joseph’s Church, Melba, in reaching 100% of its goal? Campaign brochures and envelopes are available in the entrances of the church. Donation envelopes may be mailed directly to the diocesan offices or placed in any Sunday collection.

Parish Mission: “Laughter, Storytelling, and Praise of the Lord!” is the theme of the Parish Mission set for St. Paul’s Par-ish the week of October 19 – 24, with Father James W. Sichko. Fr. Sichko is a priest of the Diocese of Lexington, Ken-tucky, and pastor of St Mark’s Parish in Richmond. Father travels through the U.S. leading missions and retreats, and is known for his storytelling, weaving daily life experiences with the Gospel. Now he comes to Nampa! Mark your calendars and plan to participate in the Parish Mis-sion. Invite others to join us in the Parish Mission. St. Paul’s School Board will meet one

Do You Want to help the parish commu-nity but just don’t know how? Well, here is an opportunity for you to share your time. The parish office is in need of vol-unteer receptionists on Tuesdays and Thursdays, to help answer phone calls and light clerical jobs. If you are interested or would like to know more, please contact Dan or Carol at the parish office.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul food pantry served 4,027 families, which included 16,620 individuals, this last fis-cal year. Now our cupboards are bare and our freezers are empty. We need canned meats, tuna, soup, pork and beans, boxed cereal, rice, boxed potatoes, peanut but-ter, cake mixes and MEAT. Thanks for your continued support.

Clases de Quinceañera: Se iniciarán el domingo, de 27 de Octubre del 2013, las clases de Quinceañera es una serie de cuatro clases, que se reunirá los domingos, 27 octubre y domingos 3, 10, 17 de noviembre a las 2:00 p.m. en la Casa Parroquial. Jóvenes que están planeando de celebrar próximamente su Quinceañera deben asistir en dichas clases. La joven tiene que asistir a las cuatro clases para cumplir con el curso y participar de la Hora Santa el día 7 de noviembre a las 7:00pm en la Iglesia. Es un requisito que se registre antes de esta fecha cualquier día de lunes a viernes en la Casa Parroquial. La inscripción es de $50. Caridades Católicas de Idaho se com-place en anunciar la apertura de Plaza Comunitaria en el condado de Canyon County. Con las clases a partir del 1 de octubre de 2013 en el Centro de Forta-lecimiento Familiar de Nampa. Plaza Comunitaria es un programa desarrol-lado por el gobierno de México para proveer a los mexicanos y a los latinos que viven en el extranjero la oportunidad de iniciar, continuar o mejorar su educa-ción, en español. Los estudios indican que estos estudiantes pueden aprender Inglés rápido y más eficientemente si primero tienen una sólida educación en su propia lengua. Una vez finalizado el programa, los estudiantes reciben un certificado de la Secretaría de Educación Pública. Asignaturas escolares de pri-maria, cursos de secundaria, programas de alfabetización y cursos en línea son gratuitos. El Consejo Pastoral de San Jose se reunirá este lunes que viene, 7 de octubre, fiesta de Nuestra Señora del Rosario, a las 7:30 p.m. en la Iglesia de San José en Melba.
