What To Do: 1. Point to Target Word at top of page. Say, “This is luck, lucky.” 2. Cover those words. 3. Point to lu in 1st rowbelow. Say, “This starts the word luck.” 4. Point to lure/luck. Say, (a) “Find the one that says the whole word luck;” (b) “circle it;” (c) “sayluck.” Immediately correct any error. Repeat for each row. For rows that start with luck, say, “This starts the word lucky.” (a) “Findthe one that says the whole word lucky;” (b) “circle it;” (c) “say lucky.”

What To Do: 1. Say, “Some words here say luck or lucky & some do not.” 2. Point to vfi in the 1st row. Say, “Cross out anyword that does NOT say luck or lucky.” 3. Point to any word luck or lucky & say, “What word is this?” Make sure child starts at the left& works to the right across the row. Immediately correct any error. Repeat for each row.
