The U.S Census Bureau has mailed official notices to every household requesting participation in the 2020 Census. Information on all persons living and staying at your residence can be entered online. All information provided is confidential and cannot be shared with other government agencies or local authorities.
The U.S. Constitution requires a national census every 10 years to count the number of men, women and children residing in the U.S. This includes undocumented and homeless populations that are often hard to count.
The primary purpose of the Census is to determine the number of representatives in Congress for each state apportionment). Additionally, Census data helps direct billions of dollars in federal funds to local communities for education, roads, and other public services.
Census data is also used for planning by hospitals, nursing homes, community centers, churches, schools, and police and fire rescue.
Participation in the census is required by law. As faithful citizens, we have a duty to be counted and to also encourage our family members and neighbors to be counted. A complete and accurate count provides for the common good and well-being of all U.S. residents.

After prayer and consultation with government and public health officials and our diocesan priests, Bishop Parkes has decided to grant permission to pastors throughout the Diocese of St. Petersburg, at their discretion, to resume the
public celebration of Sunday Masses the weekend of May 30-31, 2020.
We are called to be good stewards of our health and to take practical steps to avoid spreading illness. Therefore, restrictions will be in place since we still remain in the midst of a pandemic. For now, we will need to limit the number of people at church
for social distancing and to continue the practice of frequent sanitizing.
Since the risk of coming into contact with coronavirus remains, individuals and families should take personal responsibility to protect themselves.
Please know that all Catholics remain dispensed from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass until further notice. If you are at greater risk due to age,
illness, or other health conditions, please do not come to Mass. Those able to attend Mass are urged to follow CDC guidelines and parish procedures.
Let us show charity, patience and kindness as new processes and plans are developed.
GOOD NEWS!
YOUR COMMUNITY DEPENDS ON YOUR RESPONSE!

“At this time, when indications have been given to exit out of quarantine, we pray the Lord will grant to His people, all of us, the grace of prudence and obedience to these indications, so that the pandemic does not return.” ~Pope Francis on 4/28/20
SAINT PHILIP NERI (1515-1595) Patron Saint of Joy Feast Day 5/26 In a shop near the Vatican, a group of Americans laughed as the shopkeeper showed off his fluent English and latest souvenir, a key ring whose papal portrait, when pressed, activated a recorded blessing. Through the shop window, two clerics scowled disapproval. The shopkeeper grunted, “They’re a very somber order who’ve left the Church. I recognize them.” “By their long robes?” an American asked. “Many in Rome wear robes,” replied the shopkeeper. “It’s their long faces!” When Philip Neri arrived in sixteenth-century Rome, there was reason to be somber. Swiss Guards had been massacred on Saint Peter’s steps defending the pope. Parts of Europe were abandoning the Church. But Philip resolved to be an “apostle of joy,” drawing especially the young to Christ—and frequent confession and Communion—by his sincere interest in their problems, prayerful example, and gentle humor. His “Oratory,” a movement as well as a place, provided recreation and devotion in a joyful atmosphere of companionship, service, and liturgy. Philip Neri challenges each of us to begin improving Church and world by changing ourselves with unfailing joy. —Peter Scagnelli, Copyright © J. S. Paluch
