THE PASTOR
Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Page 3
Dear Friends in Christ,
Ever grateful for your generosity, I present to you the Parish Stewardship Report for the period ending June 30, 2016. I am privileged to serve as your pastor as together we strive to be the faithful people God calls us to be.
Your sharing of your time, God-given talents, and money support all that we do here at St. Michael’s. I thank God daily for you and all that you do to bring the reality of our God into the world. And I thank you for the lives you touch with His love.
As the motivational speaker Zig Ziglar once said, “Money isn’t the most important thing in life, but it’s reasonably close to oxygen on the ‘gotta have it’ scale.” Money is certainly not the most important thing to our church, but without it we could not operate! And so…
Our expenses this past year exceeded our income due to the repainting of our complex. Thankfully, we received a one-time rebate from the Diocese, which kept us in the black for the year.
We were able to support the following charities in addition to those to which our Annual Pastoral Appeal contributes:
Catholic Relief Services $5,811 Diocesan Seminarians 6,442 World Missions 6,778 Catholic Campaign/Human Development 4,310 Religious Retirement 3,366 Habitat for Humanity 5,000 Pinellas Hope 10,300 St. Rita, Dade City 6,794 Sangre de Cristo Mission, Nicaragua 12,100 Elderly Mass Transport Subsidy 8.750 Various Other Charities 11,350 St. Vincent de Paul * 30,000 (*estimate) $111,101
Our staff remains committed to being the best possible stewards to the gifts that you entrust to us, knowing you make many sacrifices to support our parish mission of continuing the loving and reconciling ministry of Jesus Christ.
Again, thank you for making a significant difference in the lives of so many others, both within and outside of our parish.
With sincere appreciation.,
Men's Wed Group / Emmaus • Every diocese needs a robust Catholic Men's Ministry. • Every parish needs an active Men's group. • Every man needs a true brother in faith. • Every Wednesday at 7:00 am at the Library. • Every man from any parish is welcome.

Exploring the Church Readings
Each Wednesday from 7:00-8:00 AM, we read and reflect on Church/Pastoral/Scripture readings. A free interaction and coffee guides our lively and informal discussion. Surrounded by the issues of daily life, we
discover that the readings encourage and challenge us to look and live deeper within our Faith. Our inter-parish
