The Sacrament Of Baptism
We will be celebrating Infant Baptisms during Sunday 12:45 pm and 6:00 pm Masses | Beginning November 5, 2017
“The Christian community welcomes you with great joy.” These are the words of the priest at the beginning of Baptism. It is a wonderful opportunity for the parish to gather to welcome these new Christians. Baptism is so often seen as a private family function rather than a celebration of a Sacrament that affects the whole People of God. Celebrating Baptisms within Mass provides us with an opportunity to revisit and reflect upon our own Baptismal calling, since our whole Christian life finds its source in this sacrament. The Church provides a Rite of Baptism to be celebrated within Mass. Mass will begin at the back of the Church with the welcoming of the children to baptized. Af-ter this initial rite, Mass will proceed as usual until the homily. The rest of the Rite of Bap-tism will be completed after the homily and then Mass will again resume as usual. Only 2-3 children will be baptized per Mass. Please join our parish family in warmly welcoming our new brothers and sisters in Christ initiated into our faith through the waters of Baptism.
Mass of Remembrance and Candle Procession
honoring the faithful departed of the
Community of St. Michael the Archangel
for the year 2016-2017
November 2, 2017 | 7:00 p.m
At all Masses on All Souls Day and during the month of November, the Book of Remembrance, with names
of our beloved dead, will be placed in the church. All may inscribe a deceased family member or friend in
our Book of Remembrance. Masses on All Souls Day will be at 8:15am, 12:10pm and 7:00pm. At the 7:00
p.m. Mass, lit candles will honor those in our parish family who have died this year. Every member of the
church is encouraged to pray for our deceased and to console our brothers and sisters who mourn the loss
of their loved ones.
“Give them eternal rest, O Lord, and let them share your glory”

Two Become One
We look forward to seeing you again this week for another great session as we wrap up our
discussion on the mystery of love as communion. This week we explore the final "communion of

think about it! We see how the beauty of the one-flesh union trancends the limits of this world.
We'll discuss ways the one-flesh union is attacked and how we can regain and protect our first love.

Solemnity of All Saints Mass
Vigil, Tuesday, October 31, at 7:00pm
Wednesday, November 1, at 6:30am, 8:15am, 12:10pm, 7:00p
All Saints Day is a Holy Day of Obligation
Commemoration of All Souls Mass
Thursday, November 2, 8:15am, 12:10pm, 7:00pm
The Solemnity of All Saints, Wednesday, November 1st “Every year the Church recalls the example, wit-
ness, and prayer of the holy women and men who have been identified by the Church as Saints.” The cele-
bration of this ancient feast is a treasured tradition of the Church and we are obligated to attend Mass . This
day is most assuredly held in high esteem as a day of remembering the holy men and women with whom the
church proclaims to have attained eternal glory. “These saints are more than just role models; they are family
members with whom we continue to share relation, in a bond of prayer, called the Communion of Saints.
Every year when we celebrate this day, the Gospel we proclaim recalls for us Jesus' teaching about happiness,
the Beatitudes. The Beatitudes can be understood as a framework for Christian living. Because of this, it is
natural that we proclaim this Gospel on the Feast of All Saints. Saints are people who lived the spirit of the
Beatitudes as Jesus lived. On this day, we too are challenged to model our lives on the spirit and promises of
the Beatitudes. One of the great gifts of our Catholic tradition is remembrance of and prayer with the saints.
It is important to continue to tell these stories of saints and saintly people to everyone so that they have am-
ple models of people of faith for their own lives. The Church offers us an official canon, or list, of saints.” Loy-
ola Press
Commemoration of All Souls, Thursday, November 2nd On the day of All Souls, we pray for the souls of
all the faithful departed. We believe that we continue to share a relationship with those who have died and
when we pray for the souls of the faithful departed, we are praying for those whose souls are journeying
through purification and being prepared for eternal life in heaven. We believe that our prayers for them will
help to speed their journey to eternal life with God in heaven. In his death and Resurrection, Jesus has con-
quered death once and for all. In the Communion of the Saints, we continue to share a relationship with all
those who have died and with saints in heaven who intercede for us before God.
You are invited to place the names of your deceased family members and friends in our Book of
Remembrance of the Dead which will be placed in the church through out the month of November.
May they rest in peace. Amen
