Mass Intentions: A Mass may be offered for the special intention of
a parishioner, friend, or family member or for the intention of a
deceased individual. The stipend is $10.00 per Mass.
POST-ABORTION SUPPORT GROUP: Do you feel alone, hurting
or unforgiven from a past abortion? The Respect Life Office,
through Project Rachel, is starting a support group, beginning the
third week in September. The spiritual journey lasts 11 weeks, with
small groups of 6-8. Groups will be formed in Little Rock, Rogers/
Springdale and Hot Springs areas. All names and meeting places

St. Michael’s Feast Day 5k Cross Country Run/Walk:
Mark you calendars for our 1st annual St. Michael Feast Day 5k
cross country run/walk on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at
8 a.m. We encourage all of our church family to join us.
Available on the St. Michael’s website you can register online
by going to stmichaelvanburen.com, first navigate on the
homepage to the icon on the right hand side of the page, click
on the MORE tab, next drop down to 5K Cross Country RUN/
WALK, follow the steps, when finished click on submit, and
you will be directed to the payment portal. For more

PRE and Sacrament Preparation Registration: THIS
SUNDAY after both Masses and THIS WEDNESDAY EVENING
we are having our last special registration times for PRE and
Sacrament Preparation. If you miss the opportunities
provided, you will need to come into the church office during
office hours to register by Sept. 5th. Registration fee is $25 for
1 child, $50 for 2 children, and $60 maximum for a family.
There will be a late registration fee beginning Sept.6, it will
be $40 for 1 child & $75 maximum for a family. *Any child
who is new to St. Michael’s PRE or who will be receiving the
sacrament of First Communion or Confirmation is required to
bring a copy of his/her baptism certificate upon
registration. *Any transferring students must provide
attendance record from previous Parish.
St. Michael’s Festival: Save the date for St. Michael’s Festival on
Saturday, September 30, 2017. More information to come.
Knights of Columbus Spaghetti Dinner: This weekend, our
Knights will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser on
Saturday, August 19th at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, August 20
at 11 a.m. in the Family Life Center. Dinner includes:
spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, garlic bread, drinks, and
dessert. Adult meal $9 & kids $5. All proceeds will go the
Building Fund. There will also be an auction for the Altar
flowers in honor of the Knights of Columbus family week.

Openings for Parish Council: Parish Council is seeking 5
new candidates. Elections will be held in September (date to
come soon.) The Parish Council is the parish’s advisory group
to our Pastor, Father Rick, elected by you, the parishioners.
*Candidates Qualification: Must be at least 18 years of age and a
registered parishioner, in good standing, of St. Michael Catholic
Church. *Duties include: Participation in monthly meetings for
90 minutes on the evening of the third Thursday of the month.
Contributing strategic input, advice and vision on parish
matters. Upholding the mission statement. This is an
outstanding opportunity for you to make a real difference

Inscripción de Catecísmo: Este Domingo después de
dos Misas y este Miércoles por la tarde, será nuestro
último registro de tiempos para el catecismo y
Sacramento. Si usted ha perdido esta oportunidad, tendrá
