This summer St. Mary’s parking lot is being re-done. I figure that this very needed improvement could be done this summer while everything else in town like the library and the bridge is being done.

This is a serious capital improvement reaching into serious money. Anyone who has had a d r i v e w a y installed (not just re-sealed) knows that this project will reach probably into $230,000 once all is said and done. No one likes these numbers but they are what they are. . . . necessary and normal for a project this size.

I’d ask that you continue to be very generous to our maintenance collection and regular collection as your means allow. A gift as small as $10-15 per week can

go a long way in helping this to become a reality. The past seven years have

seen the repair of Tetreau Hall, demolition of the unsightly and dangerous rectory, addition of a side yard, renovation of the Church, and most recently the new staircase. It’s been a lot and it’s been well worth it. Together we can continue to build up both our souls and the places God has given us to build them up in.

A big St. Mary’s welcome toFather Dan Tuite!

Some of you may have already met Father over the past two weeks, but as of July 1st Father Dan will be living here at St. Mary’s and offering Mass while earning his doctorate.

Father Dan is originally from Staten Island and graduated from St. Joseph by the Sea High School, SUNY Stony Brook and finally St. Joseph’s Seminary. He was ordained in 2010 by Cardinal Dolan and was most recently assigned to St. Martin DePorres in Poughkeepsie and was kicked out of his room by our own Father Hartley who replaced him there. LOL!

We welcome his time at St. Mary’s celebrating sacraments and studying, lead him to serve the Lord even more in the years to come.

This week at vacation Bible School we again had great numbers and greater faith! Our kids learned and grew in deeper love with Jesus in the Eucharist in the Tabernacle. We even celebrated Michael Suarez’s first Holy Communion. We are looking forward to our second week based on Eucharistic Adoration in the Monstrance. See you then!
