Dear Friend of St. Mary School,
I am writing to you on behalf of the students of St. Mary School. St. Mary School is
a non-profit, parochial school in Cranston, RI that educates children from preschool
to grade eight. Our mission is to educate each child in the Gospel values of faith,
hope, and love, and to provide them with a dynamic learning environment that
prepares them for high school and beyond. To assist us in meeting our educational
goals, we are producing a play in the spring of 2016. Proceeds from ticket sales and
concessions will go directly back to the school to fund educational programs and
resources.
Disney’s The Lion King, Jr. is scheduled for May 13-15, 2016. In order to stage it,
we will incur many expenses-from costumes, sets, props, advertising costs, and
lighting and sound equipment rentals. Any monetary donations towards these
expenses would be greatly appreciated. In return for your generosity, the name of
your business or organization will be prominently displayed in our program and in
our advertisements.
Please send completed Donation forms to my attention by April 15, 2016. Our
school address is: St. Mary School 85 Chester Avenue Cranston, RI 02920.
Thank you for considering my request. If you have any questions or need more
information, please do not hesitate to contact me at 401-944-4107 or via email at
Sincerely,
Erin Caluori Clark, Music Director

St. Mary’s School Reading Week
“Wild About Reading” Reading Week is scheduled for March 7-11 at St. Mary’s School and we have many activities planned for the enjoyment
of our students. Beginning next week, February 29 through March 11 our students will be engaging in a contest to see
how many minutes they can read! Students will read at their leisure and record the number of minutes they read and
record the title and author of the book. Magazines and newspaper articles also count! They will then return a tally sheet
by the end of each week. Classes will progress through a “safari of African ecosystems “moving their mascot animal”
through our school hallways culminating at the gym. For every 2000 minutes read by the class their mascot animal will
move to the next station. The class who has read the most books wins a Pizza Party with Ms. Lepore! (Of course this will
be done using percentages as we do not have an equal number of students in each class)
The Book Fair and Ice Cream Social are also planned for March 9 & 10 (More info will follow)
Monday, March 7
Mayor Fung will open up Reading Week reading to the entire school at Morning Prayer
Tuesday, March 8

the day students will be able to share their poem or listen to other poems.
