Congratulations on the Baptism of Wyatt Owen (son of Andrew Owen and Desiree Gavre-Owen) baptized on Saturday, Nov.9th. Your faith community celebrates your child’s new life in Christ! Adopt a Grandparent: We have adopted a group of local senior citizens as a Christmas project and we want to present them with a special gift for Christmas. Your $30 donation will sponsor a gift for one “Grandparent” and will help to spread Christmas cheer to a group of people who are often forgotten about during this happiest of seasons. You are welcome to join us as we deliver the gifts, sing songs, and spread holiday cheer. Please contact me, Georgina Powers, to make a donation or to volunteer to help in the delivery. 270-828-8158 or 270-668-2824. Thank you so much! Deacon Joe, Ashley Law (Youth Minister), and the Youth of St. Martin and Christopher would like to thank all involved with last Friday’s fundraising fish fry. Our goal was to raise $1,000 and this was exceeded by $200! So, thanks to all the generous people who attended, and thanks to the volunteers in the kitchen including Mark Hubbard, Bill Hobbs, Joey Bruner, Mary Gavin, Ethan Snyder, and Kim Whelan. Special thanks to Jerry Lancaster and Mookie and Tommy Gerkins without whom this dream would never have become a reality. Thanks also to Reelfoot Lake fishing and duck hunting guide, Rodney Carter (270-214-0089) who pitched in a lot of free time to help our youth. Perhaps around midsummer we’ll do it again. Thanks be to God! The Family of Robert Carl (Tuffy) Brown wishes to extend a sincere thank you to St. Martin’s Church for the beautiful mass for our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Thank you to Father Jeff Hopper, the choir and musicians, and members of the congregation who participated in the mass. A special thank you to Deacon Joe Calvert for the prayer service at the funeral home. Also, thank you to the members who provided and served the delicious meal. Your kindness during this difficult time is greatly appreciated. May God Bless you all. -The Brown Family When Meade County Schools cancels school due to bad weather our weekday Mass is also canceled on that day.

Marriage Moments: “There will be powerful earthquakes, famines, and plagues…(but) by your perseverance you will secure your souls.” (Luke 21:11, 19) Sometimes ancient scriptures can sound like they are written today. As discouraging as climate crises may feel, the solution is not to despair but to create a lifestyle together of ecological sustainability and hope. Parenting Pointers: Whose job is it- to make a meal? feed the pet? clean up a room? make peace when two people disagree? Why not trade jobs in the family for a day. Be creative or humorous. If you have a baby who cries, someone may take the job of crying for a day. By Susan Vogt, www.Susanvogt.net

Word of Life: There can be no true democracy without a recognition of every person’s dignity and without respect for his or her rights. Nor can there be true peace unless life is defended and promoted.
