FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK!!
Hello, By this time, most of you have heard the news about the decision made by the Archdiocese of Chicago to close St. Louis de Montfort School at the end of this school year in June. As you can imagine, we are all deeply
saddened by this decision. The teachers and I are committed to ending this school year on a positive note. We will be planning various events and activities to give the students and their families good memories to take with them to their new schools. I ask that you continue to support us in our various fundraising efforts. The funds raised from these events go into the general operating fund of the school which helps us pay our bills. When the School Advisory Board first came up with the idea for a raffle of a suite to a Blackhawks game, we hoped that this would be an annual major fundraiser. We still have raffle tickets available and the drawing will be next Sunday, January 29th. Please support our efforts! Traditionally, the last week of January has been celebrated as Catholic Schools week throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago. Normally, we would begin the week with an Open House to celebrate our students and families and to help get word out about our school to the community. Because of the news about the closure, we will not be having our annual Open House. This will give our school families the opportunity to visit other schools on this day to help them in choosing a new school. In next week's bulletin, I will talk about the different events we will have in school during Catholic Schools Week for our students. Please pray for our students, families and the staff throughout this difficult time. Thank you for your continued support, Mrs. Wilson

ST. JOSEPH TABLE Saturday, March 18th
According to legend, the St. Joseph Altar
originated in Sicily many centuries ago during a period of drought and famine. In desperation, the people turned to St. Joseph asking his help. When
the rains finally came and the crops prospered, their prayers were answered. In Thanksgiving, the com-munity made offerings to St. Joseph of their most
prized possession, their food.
The Women’s Auxiliary is organizing a St. Joseph’s Table at St. Louis de Montfort to carry on the tradition and honor St. Joseph. More details will be posted as plans are finalized.
