Outline Itinerary

DAY 1 Bus departure from St Leonard’s College for Tullamarine Airport. DAY 2 Arrive London (early afternoon). Orientation tour by bus, check into

accommodation (5 nights):

Ibis Styles London Kensington (or similar) 15 - 25 Hogarth Road, SW5 0QJ, London, United Kingdom Time to explore the local area.

DAY 3 Full day in London – Tower of London, Imperial War Museum. West End Show. DAY4 Full day in London including a possible performance in Southwark Cathedral or

Australia House. DAY 5 Day trip to Bath – full day trip to Bath passing by Stonehenge and including a visit to

the Roman Baths and a lunchtime recital in Bath Abbey. DAY 6 Full day to explore London, including a guided tour of the Royal Albert Hall and a

possible attendance at a performance there or elsewhere. Time for shopping. DAY 7 Check out of London hotel and transfer by private coach, through the Eurotunnel to

Belgium, where you will be staying in the beautiful city of Ypres. Possibility of attending the Menin Gate Ceremony in preparation for the group’s participation on DAY 9.

DAY 8 Ypres. Half day Battlefields Tour including, if possible, visits to the grave sites of Old

Collegians and a visit to the Passchendaele 1917 Museum. Late afternoon visit to Fromelles (Pheasant Wood Cemetery, Cobbers Memorial and Museum), rehearsal and evening concert in the Jean Baptiste Church.

DAY 9 Full day in Ypres – visit to In Flanders Fields Museum, concert in the Main Square. Time to explore the ramparts and shop for chocolate before participation in The Last

Post Ceremony at Menin Gate. DAY 10 Check out of Ypres accommodation and transfer by private coach to Paris with a

possible stop at the Père Lachaise Cemetery en route. Afternoon/evening visit to Montmartre to take in the beautiful views over Paris.

DAY 11 Morning visit to the Opera Garnier and time for some shopping on the Grands Boulevards.

Concert in La Madeleine Church, followed by a performance as part of the ‘La Flamme’ ceremony under the Arc de Triomphe.

DAY 12 Paris – full day visit to Versailles. Evening visit to the Eiffel Tower – top level. DAY 13 Full day visit to Disneyland Paris. DAY 14 Check out of Paris hotel and transfer by private coach to Albert in the Somme. Check into accommodation before rehearsals and an evening concert in the Covered Market in Villers-Bretonneux, as part of the lead up to Anzac Day. Accommodation in Albert (3 nights):

DAY 15 Somme – Half day Battlefields tour including, if possible, visits to the grave sites of

TOUR CONDITIONS

1. General The cost of a tour to Europe is considerable and, although there can be no doubt that it is a wonderful and valuable investment, parents do not want open–ended commitments. The purpose of these Tour Conditions is to inform all concerned, as precisely as possible, the total costs associated with the tour and the general conditions. 2. Tour Cost Inclusions The tour cost is inclusive of: - All airfares, trains and buses - All ground arrangements - All accommodation - All meals - All excursions, entrance fees - Arrangement of all concerts in England, Belgium and France - Bi-lingual tour manager in Belgium and France - Knowledgeable local guides - Supervision (on the basis of 1 Tour Leader per completed 10 tour members) - Airport & departure taxes, and fuel surcharges, based on those as at March 2017, but subject to change until

tickets are issued. 3. Exclusions The tour cost does not include: - passport and visa costs (holders of Australian and EEC countries’ passports do not require visas) - pocket money 4. Exchange Variations etc. In recent months, there have again been major movements in international exchange rates and it is quite impossible to anticipate what will happen over the next 12 months. Subject to exchange rates remaining stable, the actual tour cost for the 15 days in Europe will be a sum approaching but not exceeding $6,950. The tour has been costed using the following exchange rates:- $1 (Australian) = Euro 0.67 and GBP 0.55 5. Passports Angas Travel will assist all members of the tour in obtaining any passports and visas. 6. Insurance The College has group student travel insurance in place and this will cover your child/children whilst travelling overseas on this tour. Please find attached a copy of the policy summary for your information. 7. Payment Payment for the tour will be required as under: Deposit $ 1000 with Nomination application by 31 March 2017 Balance $ 5950 by 25 August 2017 All payments will be made using this link:

Change in Duration of the Tour From time to time, airlines change their flight schedules between the time that a tour is planned and when the group departs Australia. This can cause a decrease or increase in the duration of the tour by one, two or even three days. In such cases – and in the case of strikes and Forces Majeures – the tour will be adjusted by $230 per person for each day the tour has had to be curtailed or extended. 9. Code of Conduct The College has a code of conduct for students travelling on school tours. All Tour Members – and their Parents/Guardians must agree to accept and sign this. 10. Independent Return Should Tour Members wish to return to Australia independently after the end of the tour, this can be arranged with Angas Travel (angela@angastravel.com.au or 08 8131 2642) - subject to approval from the College and the airlines involved. It is essential that requests for independent return be submitted to the College as early as possible. There will be a fee of $150 for returning independently of the group. If this independent return involves a change in routing and/or season, further cost adjustments may apply. Our Travel Consultants are available to advise families about timetables, air schedules and costs. 11. Refund in Case of Cancellation In the case of cancellation where a Tour Member is fully up to date in making payments for the tour, refunds will be made as under:- Date of cancellation Cancellation fee Cancellation on or after 31 March 17 & before 25 August 17 $500 Cancellation on or after 25 August 17 & before 9 February 2018 $2500 Cancellation on or after 9 February 2018 100% of total tour cost Depending on the reason for your cancellation, these charges may be recoverable under the insurance cover.
