These are perilous days whence everyone should practice charity in obeying all the recommendations
from the CDC and your Diocesan Bishop. Charity demands that while you many be healthy-your family members and neighbors may not be.
Stay home, wash your hands often, and limit social gatherings. Finally-pray the Rosary and beg Our Lady to intercede for us. Be at peace and remain
blessed. Fr. Patrick Ike
You can continue your weekly giving online or by mail. SJtW online donations are managed by Our Sunday Visitor. Please call Our Sunday Visitor at
1-800-348-2886 to sign up. St. Joseph the Worker Parish deeply appreciates your sacrifices
in supporting our parish. May God bless you for your generosity.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES LIFE HOUSE Join other volunteers from area parishes as we
begin our 8th season helping Catholic Charities/Life House with their grounds maintenance and 21
raised vegetable beds. We volunteer monthly from March through October, with some of our Garden Friends planting and harvesting weekly through the
summer months. Our first work day will be Tuesday, March 24, from 9-11, and the following
one will be Thursday, April 23, from 9-11. Weather permitting, our March goals will be to ready the
beds for planting cool weather crops, clean gutters of leaves and from the perimeter of the building,
trim bushes, etc. To volunteer or for more information, please contact Jana Hukriede at 417-840-4109 or [email protected].
ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION For anyone unable to participate at Mass, An Act of
Spiritual Communion is suggested. My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I
desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.

Pope Francis’s Intentions - Mar 2020 Universal prayer intention - Catholics in China We pray that the Church in China may perse-vere in its faithfulness to the Gospel and grow in unity.
Bishop Rice’s Intentions - Mar 2020 That Saint Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church, will protect and guide all families within the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau.
LIGHT “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light” (Ephesians 5:14). We are at the
midpoint of our Lenten journey of conversion. As always, God never gives up on us, especially those who have “fallen
asleep” along the road to conversion. The most powerful stories of conversion are proclaimed during these final weeks of Lent. They have the power to shake us out of our sleep. Today’s Gospel story of the healing of the man born blind
exposes the real blindness in the time of Christ—the blindness of the self-righteous religious leaders. In a few
weeks, at the Easter Vigil, the Church will proclaim “Christ our Light” as the paschal candle is carried into darkened
churches throughout the world. May the darkness of sin that still pervades our lives, communities, and world, be dispelled by the Christ who comes to bring sight to the blind and light
to the world. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

PRAYER FOR THE SICK
Father of goodness and love, Hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need. Amid mental and physical suffering, may they find consolation in your healing presence. Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness, make broken bodies whole and free downcast spir-its. May these special people find lasting health and deliverance and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ who brings healing to all who believe. Amen
