OUR MISSIO( STATEME(T
St. Joseph Parish is a Roman Catholic Church ministering to the community of Lodi since 1917. We are a community of believers, rich in tradition and growing in diver-sity. We draw our spiritual strength and power from the Eucharistic Presence of our Lord. We provide an atmosphere in which parishioners of all ages and cultures share faith through Sacramental and Liturgical celebrations, on-going faith formation and other social events which enable us to connect our faith with the world in which we live for the greater glory of the Risen Christ.
Risorgente.

"At that statement his face fell, and he went away sad, for he had many possessions." Jesus gave this man some
challenging news. And sadly, the man turned away instead of
taking up the challenge.
ext weekend we will celebrate World Mission Sunday.
This year we are invited to support the 1,150 of the

the Faith.

I thank all of for your cooperation and your sincerity as we move forward with these changes. This past weekend I preached at almost all the masses and have given points on how we may celebrate our liturgy worthily and beautifully in the eyes of God. I have given you some points of considerations and pondered some reflective aspects of our duty as Catholic worshipers. I hope you will take heed to this call and be blessed with humility to move towards a change of heart. The Eucharist as it is summed up with our Catechism is the summit of our faith. It is beautiful for it shows the face of God to us through Jesus in the bread and wine. I am so pleased to announce to you that our Deacon in formation to the permanent Diaconate, Anthony La Franca will be received to the Candidacy on Monday, October 12, 2015, at the 7 pm Mass at the Holy Spirit Parish in Union City. The Mass will be celebrated by our Coadjutor Archbishop Bernard Hebda, DD and concelebrated by the pastors and priests of the Archdiocese. Let us show our support and make every effort to support him by being present to this liturgy. In the following weeks we will begin to add new pages in our bulletin to better communicate with you all the activities going on in the life of our parish. I believe besides the ambo, the bulletin is the second best means of communicating to all of you our messages and news. We will do our best to inform you and make you aware of the many opportunities we may share together in making our parish a family. I would like also to congratulate and welcome the new members of our youth choir. Our Youth choir now is under the direction of our seminarians in Ramsey. I thank Millie Connolly for her hard work, effort and passion in putting this choir together. Preparing the children to get them to sing in the church is quite a large task, but very rewarding. o all your effort, sacrifices and love, I thank you! CYO has also started under the direction of our transitional Deacon Br. Ryan. Let us encourage our young people to participate in this program. Br. Ryan has so many great ideas and activities planned. Come and meet with us on Sunday after the six pm mass. Well I have so many more things to say but it may take up too much space in the bulletin. Let us continue to pray, to love, to believe and to live. Have a blessed week to all! Fr. Ted Kalaw, CRM
