St Johns stunning and historical building located on the waterfront is and ideal venue to
host your private function. With several spaces to choose from, including; a private lounge,
dining area and enclosed courtyard or the whole bar area.
We have a wide range of tap beers, local, international and craft, featuring Tuatara, Black
Dog, Monteithes and Heineken, as well as an extensive wine list. Our farm to fork menus
feature a wide range of carefully selected local produce to suit every guest.

1. Our hours of trade are from 11am till 3am. If your function falls outside of these hours or, a special license is required this will be charged in addition to your bill. If the event falls on a public holiday a surcharge may apply (You will be notified of any additional charges as soon as these are identified)
2. We do not charge a venue hire however we do ask a minimum spend when exclusive use of a part of the venue is required. For your event the minimum spend is $________. A deposit of 10% of your minimum spend $______ is due on confirmation of your booking. This secures the venue, date and all preliminary work carried out prior to the day. This confirmation must be signed and returned with your refundable deposit. If the deposit is not received, your event will not be considered confirmed and we reserve the right to release the date. In the event of non-payment of the deposit, we will advise you of this in writing and you will have three working days to process the deposit before the date is released. The remainder of the minimum spend and/or account balance must be paid before your departure from the function, or can be invoiced if agreed upon prior to your event. This amount can be paid by cash, credit card or direct credit.
3. Please note that payment by credit card will incur a 2.5% fee. This is to cover credit card company charges.4. Any shortfall in the minimum spend must be paid for in full by the signee prior to their departure unless prior
arrangement has been made with management.5. Your minimum spend includes the following:
- Use of the designated area. If the entire venue is not hired exclusively then the other areas of St John's will be open to the general
public.
- Use of the above venue until the agreed upon time at which time the above venue will become available to the general public.
- Sufficient staff throughout the duration of your function 6. If we need to hire any extra items for your function we will discuss this with you prior to the day and it will be charged
in addition to your bill7. Just in case too much of a good time is had by all any theft or damage made to our establishment will be billed to you.
You will be notified of any theft or damage within 24 hours of completion of your function; we will endeavor to do this on the night.
8. Payment is due at the completion of your function that day unless prior arrangements have been made. We accept the following forms of payment: direct credit, cash, Visa, MasterCard, Eftpos, Amex and Diners.
9. An itemized account and/or GST receipt is available.Please note that payment by credit card will incur a 2.5% fee. This is to cover credit card company charges.
10. Final guest numbers are required no later than three working days prior to your function. If numbers are reduced within 3 days, conditions apply (see a + b below). If the number of people increases we will add this cost to the final bill a) The same billing amount will apply and products will be provided in line with this. I.e the same amount of food will be served as the
original number at the same cost.
b) You will be charged 25% of the total spend per head for each guest who does not show. This will cover costs incurred.
11. Cancellation: If the event is cancelled 14 days prior to the event, the deposit paid will be refunded in full. Any cancellations less than 14 days prior to the event are not eligible for a refund of the deposit paid. However this deposit can be held against future events within the following six months or issued as a voucher valid for six months from date of issue.
12. Food and Beverage: All menus and beverage lists are subject to change due to seasonality and availability and we reserve the right to substitute food or beverage if an item is no longer available. The substituted item will be of a similar cost and quality. We will endeavor to notify you of any changes to your menu or beverage selections no later than two days prior to your event and in this instance you may then choose to accept our substitute or choose another option from our available selection at the cost on the current menus.
13. Menus: We ask that all food and beverage choices be made no later than 14 days prior to your event. Please confirm any dietary requirements for your guests at this time if possible. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to cater for dietary requirements on the day.
14. We are committed to providing a safe, comfortable environment for all of our guests and remind you that your function needs to comply with all liquor licensing laws. This includes intoxication, prohibited persons and underage patrons (unless underage patrons are accompanied by their parents, and please inform us of ANY guests that will be under the age of
18 PRIOR to the event)
