PRAYER OF THE DAY (Let us pray for the assurance of Jesus’ presence. [silence]) Almighty and merciful God, you made the disciples glad by the sight of the risen Lord. Remind us that he is always with us, and that we now share in his resurrection. For he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

READINGS Acts 2:14a, 36-41 3000 people repent and are baptised 1 Peter 1:17-23 We are set free by the sacrifice of Jesus Luke 24:13-35 Jesus made known in the breaking of bread

PSALM 116:1-4, 12-19 – Our response to the Lord’s goodness to us P: I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. C: Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. P: The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came upon me; I

was overcome by trouble and sorrow. C: Then I called on the name of the LORD: “O LORD, save me!” P: How can I repay the LORD for all his goodness to me? C: I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD. P: I will fulfil my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people. C: Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. P: O LORD, truly I am your servant; I am your servant, the son of your maid

servant; you have freed me from my chains. C: I will sacrifice a thank-offering to you and call on the name of the LORD. P: I will fulfil my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people, C: in the courts of the house of the LORD—in your midst, O Jerusalem.

Praise the LORD. Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forevermore. Amen.

AFTER THE GOSPEL Praise to you, O Christ. Thank you Lord Jesus, for revealing yourself in the Scriptures and the breaking of the bread. Strengthen our faith through your word and sacraments.

OFFERING PRAYER Thank you, eternal Father, for setting us free through the sacrifice of your Son. Help us, through your great love for us, to love and serve one another and all people, Amen.

PRAYERS Response: Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.
