BAPTISM / BAUTISMO Baptisms in English take place on the Sunday of the last Sunday of

the month at 2:30 p.m. during the following months: January,

March, May, July, September and November. Parents should call the Parish Office to arrange the Baptism. Parents are required to

attend a Pre-Baptism Class.

RECOGNIZING JESUS

St. Peter speaks to us twice today. In the first read-

ing, we hear an excerpt from his sermon on Pente-

cost; in the second, part of his first Letter. Once a

frightened, uneducated fisherman who often said just

the wrong thing, now Peter is speaking what he knows

to be true.

Everything Jesus had said now makes sense. His death

and rising were all part of God’s plan, and our faith and

hope can be centered on God.

Today’s Gospel tells the story of Jesus’ walk to

Emmaus with two of the disciples. Frightened, sad, and

confused, the two don’t recognize Jesus, who tells

them what we heard Peter say above: all this had to

happen as part of God’s plan. In the end, these disci-

ples recognize Jesus as we are to recognize him—in

RECONOZCAN A JESÚS

San Pedro nos habla dos veces hoy. En la primera

lectura, escuchamos una parte de su sermón el día de

Pentecostés; en la segunda, parte de su primera carta.

Antes, un pescador asustado y sin mucha educación

que a menudo decía lo que no debía, ahora dice lo que

él sabe es la verdad. Todo lo que Jesús había dicho

ahora tiene sentido. Su muerte y resurrección eran

parte del plan de Dios y nuestra fe y esperanza se

pueden centrar en Dios.

El Evangelio de hoy nos relata la historia de la

caminata de Jesús hacia Emaús con dos de los discípu-

los. Asustados, tristes y confusos, ninguno de los dos

reconoció a Jesús, quien les dice lo mismo que

escuchamos de Pedro en la lectura anterior: todo eso

sucedió como parte del plan de Dios. Al final, los

discípulos reconocieron a Jesús por la misma acción

It is with great sadness that we

announce the death of Reverend

Ambrose Hong Quoc Khong, CSJB, a

priest of the Congregation of St. John

the Baptist. Fr. Ambrose served faith-

fully in our parish for ten years. His

death is a great loss to our community

of St. John Vianney.

Please pray for the repose of his soul. May he

rest in the peace of Christ, the Risen Lord.

1，本主日所有彌撒使用的餅酒及蠟燭由粵語聖母軍奉

獻。

2，5月4日（主日）的大型佘山聖母遊行活動注意事

項：

A，請大家邀請親朋好友，一起參加。

B，由于遊行活動緊接著12點45分的彌撒，請大家與

彌撒前用好午餐。下午5點才有茶點招待。

C，當日中午12 點以後，本堂停車場禁止停車，以供

遊行隊伍使用。

D, 需要坐車參加「佘山聖母遊行」的教友，請儘早到

「服務台」登記。

E，請大家攜帶玫瑰念珠以便遊行時使用。

F，聖母遊行是一個祈禱性的遊行，也是信仰見證性

的遊行，請大家在遊行過程中不要聊天，走在四人一

排的隊伍中，隨著播放的歌曲及玫瑰經一起詠唱祈

禱。

為使當日的遊行活動順利和諧，請大家多多犧牲，特

別配合堂區的各項安排。所有不便，敬請大家諒解。

3，本堂開始招募慕道者，歡迎所有兄弟姐妹介紹您尚未

認識天主的朋友、家人、鄰居及同事參加我們六月開

始的慕道班，報名請到服務台。

耶穌復活的消息傳到耶路撒冷教會，反應並非想像中

熱烈，相信的人不多，甚至伯多祿也生疑惑，不知發生了

甚麼事。往厄瑪烏去的兩個門徒，代表教會內失望的一

群。他們聽到婦女的報告，但不相信女人的話，最後離開

耶路撒冷教會。從耶路撒冷到厄瑪烏有一象徵意義︰厄瑪

烏在耶京的西面，兩門徒向西行，正走向落日。「夕陽無

限好，只是近黃昏」，黃昏雖美，總帶點哀傷，因為黑暗

快將來臨。兩門徒認出復活的基督，星夜返回耶路撒冷，

即朝著東方走，從黑暗走向光明。

兩門徒離開耶路撒冷教會，是因希望幻滅，他們原希望

耶穌復興以色列國。這碰到人跟隨耶穌的動機問題及離開

教會的問題。不純正的動機，不該有的願望，往往是離開

的原因。有些人認為教會既是至聖，遇到眾多壞榜樣教友

時，便失望得離去；忘記教會的至聖性，是來自至聖的耶

穌，至聖的基督常臨在於罪人的教會。今日的福音提到︰

「主真的復活了，並向西滿顯現」，耶穌並沒有因為伯多

祿的不承認祂而捨棄他。

離開教會的原因還有很多，我按今日的福音特別提出一

點︰離開者缺乏一份真實的信仰經驗。耶穌一步步帶領兩

門徒獲得這份信仰經驗，最後使他們返回耶路撒冷教會。

耶穌不從譴責開始，祂主動走近兩門徒，邀請他們講出

對信仰的期望。祂用聖經開解他們，讓我們知道聖經是認

識祂、了解祂最好的途徑，而天主也特別眷顧時常接觸天

主聖言的人。耶穌引起兩門徒好客的善心，待兩人誠意邀

請時，才把握機會，藉分餅禮，讓兩人經驗祂、認出祂。

本來經驗到基督的渠道很多，但基督願意人藉著聖事，特

別是感恩祭宴去接觸祂，領受祂的恩寵。聖經與聖事都是

方法，接觸基督、經驗基督才是最重要的。基督徒總聽過

聖經，領過聖事，但都能因自己的軟弱、準備不足或其他

原因，經驗不到基督。兩門徒最初也「聽到」基督復活的

報告，但沒有「經驗到」復活的基督，故仍生離去之心。

到耶穌親自解釋時，他們的心「火熱起來」，再加上擘餅

禮，使他們感通起來，認出基督的臨在。雖然基督在他們

面前隱去，但復活的基督已臨在他們心中。這份對基督的

經驗，催迫他們立刻起程，返回耶路撒冷教會。
