Religious Education Notes
2016 - 2017 Religious Education Program Registration Registrations Forms can be found on line at St. John’s ParishWebsite. ALL REGISTRATIONS ARE DUE BY JUNE 5TH. NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER JUNE5TH.
Year End Evaluations. If you did not receive your child’s evaluation please call the Rectory Office to make arrangementsto pick them up. The will be available until June 7th, after that date they will be filed.
Mass Attendance for the children in the Religious Education Program will be recorded over the Summer months. Pleaseremember to have your child give their envelope to the priest after Mass.
Confirmation Pictures, Communion Pictures and Certificates are available for pick up at either of the Rectory Officesuntil June 16th . Please call the Rectory Office (ext 3) or Religious Ed Office (ext 4) to make arrangements for pick up.
Rectory Office Hours during the months of July and August the Parish Secretary is not in the office on Thursday andFridays. The Rectory hours will be St. John’s on Tuesday - 10:30AM to 3:30PM and St. Charles on Monday, Wednesday -10:00AM to 4:00PM and Saturday 11:00 to 3:00PM. The Parish Secretary will also be out of the office from June 7th to the11th.
Fasting Friday On every Friday throughout the year we continue with Fasting Fridays. This is done on a personal basis. Theintention will be to especially ask God that fallen away Catholics will come back to the Church, for the souls in Purgatory, orfor a personal intention. Try to do without some food to experience the effects of not eating it. Fasting is wonderful when wewant to sincerely ask for an important Grace from God. God hears us but we have to make the effort.
HELPING THE CHURCH AT HOME: the Cardinal’s Appeal... 2016 Cardinal Appeal Update: To date St. Johns has received$26,001 from 105 gifts, which is 57% of our goal of $45,500 and St. Charles has received $8,228 from 49 gifts which is 34%of our goal of $24,500. Please send in your pledges to this years appeal. There are envelopes in the vestibule of ourchurches. If you use one of these envelopes or the tear off below, please return it to the rectory office so it will be properlycredited to our parishes While each of us has our own financial needs and difficulties, we are still asked to help those whoseneeds are even greater.
