Please stay home if you are not feeling well, have COVID symptoms, or have been exposed to someone with COVID. The dispensation to attend Holy Mass will be lifted the weekend of September 26/27. What if I am a senior citizen, have serious health problems or share a household with someone who is at high risk? Am I obligated to attend Sunday Mass? Those for whom, in their own prudent and prayerful judgment, attending Mass would pose greater than normal risk, either to themselves, to their families and others with whom they have contact, or to those attending Mass, whether the source of the additional risk is their age, health, possible recent exposure, difficulty in observing social distancing guidelines and other hygienic measures, or any other cause, gauged in proportion to the gravity of the obligation in question. For more information, please visit: www.madisondiocese.org/faqcovid. In accord with current public health recommendations, the faithful are required to wear face coverings when indoors. One cantor and a musician may provide music during offertory and communion however, there will be no congregational singing. All Masses will be live-streamed on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/sfajefferson Church will be open 30 minutes before Mass begins. Please do not arrive sooner so our ushers can be in place. The front doors and the new handicap accessible entrance will be the only doors you can enter at St. John the Baptist location. Holy Water has been removed. Ushers will take you to a pew-filling the front first. Every other pew will be roped off. Please distance you and/or your household 6 feet from another person/household in the same pew. Fr Tom will come to your pew to distribute Holy Communion. Holy Communion may be received in the hand or on the tongue. 2 Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will distribute to anyone sitting in their cars during Mass who may not feel comfortable being in church or if we have reached capacity due to spacing. No Sign of Peace. No books or hymnals will be in the pews. Baskets for your offering will be in church-no collection will be taken. Ushers will dismiss at the end of Mass starting with the pews closest to exits. Please wait your turn. Ushers will distribute bulletins as you are dismissed. No congregating before or after Mass.

The Home and School is looking forward to a Service Day in the coming months. We are unlikely to offer the Rake-a-Thon in the same form we have used in the past. We want to do something--it just won’t be the same. We are going to ask teachers to think about some nice service ideas for all of our children to participate in. We collected $51.37 at our school Mass last week. Thank you to parents and students for supporting our Parish. Father Tom does stream the Mass, so parents and grandparents can watch--but we also have a few seats available in the back for you if you wish to join us. October is here, and the weather is changing fast. November is just around the corner, as well. We want to focus on Literacy in November, with a Book Fair and a Read-a-thon. The Read-a-thon will be a sponsorship type event, so parishioners, if you would like to help donate to a reader, we will provide more information in the coming weeks. Thank you for your support of SJB!

It’s a GREAT DAY to be a KNIGHT!

School News

Knights of Columbus SCRIP News We appreciate the dedication of the regular participants but know we are just touching the tip of the iceberg when it comes to how much we can do. Please continue to support our parish through the SCRIP program and if you haven't yet helped please contact Rick Loof at 414-940-3540 for information.

Respect Life Collection This weekend, the Respect Life Collection is being

conducted across the diocese. Brochures explaining the collection and an envelope to make your donation are at

the entrances to church. Please consider how you can make a difference!

RCIA Information RCIA - For those interested in becoming Catholic or who simply have questions about Catholicism... We will begin a new "Inquiry period" this fall for everyone who may want to learn more about the Catholic Church and what it really teaches. This is a great opportunity for non Catholics, or Catholics who need to complete their sacraments. Attending our weekly sessions does not mean you are committing to join the Catholic Church. It just means you are interested in learning more about the church. Classes begin Tuesday, October 6th at 6:30 pm in the rectory. Please call Sue Dascenzo at 608-345-5426 or Rick Helman at 920-699-4029. RCIA could use some help! If you have ever thought or might be interested in joining our leadership team at St. Francis of Assisi we would sure like to hear from you. Please contact Sue Dascenzo at 608-345-5426 or Rick Helman at 920-699-4029. We meet once a week usually from late fall thru spring.

Flame of Love Conference Flame of Love Indiana is thrilled to offer "Seeking Refuge II, Protecting your Domestic Church with Mary’s Illuminating Grace for Our Times”. It will be held on the sacred and holy grounds of the only approved Marian ap-parition site in the U.S.—Our Lady of Good Help Shrine. You can attend in person or virtually. The Seeking Refuge II conference is the sequel to our Seeking Refuge I workshop which taught how to prepare our homes as sanctuaries and how to equip our families with knowledge, prayer and resources. Now it is time to Protect our Domestic Church in these times of uncertainty, fear, violence, and out-right attacks on the family! We have an incredible lineup of live & virtual speakers who will teach us about the power of the gifts, tools and weapons the Church has provided to equip families and clergy against the ever-encroaching darkness and godlessness growing in our culture today. We will learn how Our Lord has been preparing us and speaking to us through the Saints and Our Lady, with messages approved by the Church, to fortify the faithful. For more information go to: https://www.flameoflove-indiana.com/ For cenacle prayer schedule, go to: https://www.flameoflove-indiana.com/indiana-virtual-cenacle-schedule

Fatima Anniversary The Blessed Mother Mary appeared at Fatima, Portugal to three children and asked for prayers, especially the Rosary

for the conversion of Russia, sinners, and world peace. October 10th after 4 pm Mass at St. Lawrence, we will

gather to pray the rosary and Litany of Mary in church and at the St. Coletta BVM Grotto at the west end of

St. Lawrence’s parking lot. All are most welcome. Please follow social distancing guidelines and wear masks.
