No comprenden
todavía, ni siquiera los discípulos, exactamente a
dónde se dirige su procesión triunfal. Nosotros
tampoco sabemos a dónde estamos yendo en
nuestra vida. En la fe
podemos seguir a Cristo
dondequiera que nos guíe,
porque estamos seguros de
que la muerte no es el final
y el mal no será el
vencedor.
PASSION
The contrast between the processional reading in
today’s liturgy and the proclamation of the
Passion is striking. We are given a glimpse of
how profoundly the word of God is fulfilled in
Jesus.
First he must be hailed as the Messiah, the One
who is to come. He must be acknowledged by all,
though they do not know what they are saying.
They think he is the promised king, a worldly
king of the Jews who will free them from the
Roman occupation. They do not yet understand,
even the disciples, exactly where this triumphal
procession is leading. In our lives, we too do not
know where we are going.
It is in faith that we can
follow Christ wherever He
may lead us, trusting that
death is not the end, nor
evil the victor.

Special for Lent:
FINDING HOPE when LIFE HURTS
by Renée Lagorio-French
St. Francis of Assisi Liturgical Committee
March 25-31: Palm Sunday
The ticking clock - Live in the moment. Tell your loved ones how much you treasure them. Appreciate all you have. Thank God for the gifts of your loved ones in your life. Hug your children. Let Jesus into your heart, every day. Be Jesus to others. Repeat...repeat...repeat.
Come in and dine with me - When I am ‘unwilling’ to forgive, I need to remind myself of Jesus’ willingness to forgive those who betrayed Him, and to forgive me. ‘Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.’ Not always easy, but it
helps when I remind myself of the ways in which I have trespassed against others, and how they seem to always forgive me.
A gamble worth the risk - We are all willing to gamble, whether it is with a friendly sports wager, a card game, or other bet. The best gamble we can make is to gamble on our relationships with others. It is the one gamble we are sure to win, especially if we center that relationship with Jesus.
The blame game - Lord, give me the humility to admit when I have made a mistake and acknowledge to others that I was wrong. I think you actually gain respect and credibility when you take accountability for your mistakes—it is a large part of being truly authentic.
Remember who you are! I need to always remind myself of who I am...with positive life-affirming words. I need to also do the same for others...we are all God’s favorites and it may help others to be reminded of who they are as seen by others in positive life-affirming words.
What will matter? What would I do differently? Say ‘I love you’, ‘Thank you’, ‘Please forgive me’ more often. To laugh more, to be present with God, with others. To be kinder, gentler, less judgmental. To act ‘I love you’ more often. To practice joyology, to provide compassionate care to others, to let Jesus into my heart each and every moment of each and every day. As we approach the Easter Season—let this be my opportunity, let me start TODAY.
The Empty Egg— What will my Easter egg contain?
Symbols of LIGHT, LOVE, JOY, and HOPE...

RESCHEDULED! “Finding Hope through Song & Silence”
A Taize-Style Prayer Service Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 6 pm Please join our St. Francis of Assisi Music Ministry Disciples for a spiritual and reflective Holy Week prayer service created in the style of Taizé. The Taizé service is a meditative experience of prayer including silence, prayer, scripture, and repeated “chants,” one of the trademarks of Taizé music. Taizé is not considered “centering prayer,” as the service itself is directed and focused, but the repetition of the simple musical chants by ALL is designed to help meditation and prayer. This service will be held in the church, will last approximately 45 minutes, and is free of charge. No RSVP is required. All are welcome, but we do ask that participants enter the church quietly in order to maintain the reflective nature of our prayer service. Thank you.
Saint Patrick's Day at St. Francis - A good time was had by all…
A big “thank you” to everyone who celebrated with us and brought delicious appetizers to share...we were all well-fed! Another special “thank you” to the staff and volunteers who helped us set-up/decorate, tend bar, sell drink tickets, serve and clean up:
