NOTE FROM BISHOP VINCKE: Dear Parishioners,

It brought me a lot of joy to visit your parish. Thank you for

your warm hospitality and kindness towards me.

I want to extend my Christmas wishes and prayers to all of

you. Thank you for your faith. At any family event, the baby

usually gets the most attention. The baby Jesus deserves our

utmost attention. The birth of Jesus tells us that we have a

Savior who loves to save us. He desires to redeem us and to

be in eternal communion with every one of us. He came as a

baby so we won’t be afraid of Him. He was born in a smelly,

dingy manger. Because of this, there is no place in our life that He is afraid to go—even the messiest parts of our lives. He

wants to enter into our life and redeem every situation. He

came to conquer the world, not with weapons, but with His love and mercy. May you experience His Presence of

peace and joy in your life.

May we all respond to God as Mary did—by saying

“yes!” May God bless you and all your families.

Now that the renovation has been completed, please make use of our two gathering areas for visiting after Mass – on the west and north sides of the church, as well as the parish hall. The Church nave is a blessed place because of the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.

NOTICE: All pamphlets (The Word Among Us, Devotionals,

Living Faith, etc.) at the north entrance will be inside the cabinet on the west side. At all entrances, if there are extra copies available, they will be in the cabinets.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM 2018

Once again, we had a very special Christmas Program commemorating the birth of Jesus. I’m especially thankful for Kaylee Watkins and Kelly Meyer who volunteered many hours to making the program a success. They know exactly what to do and how to get it done. We thank Sally Cameron for being our accompanist for the program. Our CCD teachers are so faithful to teaching the students each week. They prepare their class for their parts in the play and this makes the program go smoothly. Our teachers are: Christy Juenemann, Bev Rucker, Marty Cressler, Carol Stewart, Carol Cooper, Flo Mense, Jacqui Haffner, Pat Friess, Ellen Weiner and Ed Weiner. We appreciate and thank the husbands, families and sacristans who worked behind the scenes to make the program a special Christmas event! We thank the Confirmation Students for providing the cookies for the reception. Thanks to Lisa Weimer for taking pictures. All of you are very much appreciated!
