A new kind of lifestyle. At the heart of each retirement village we create is a feature building containing the facilities you’d normally expect to find in a country house hotel. In the past, these buildings have comprised Tudor Halls, Georgian Mansions and Victorian Villas. We have become renowned for the sensitive development of important but neglected buildings and, as a result, have won a number of Conservation Awards.
We work with award-winning architects to restore and build beautiful homes in beautiful surroundings and to create sustainable housing in a secure environment. It’s a simple idea. Perhaps that’s why it’s been so successful.

The Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District National Park are on our doorstep. The Limestone Dales found in Derbyshire and the Peak District provide some of the most spectacular and picturesque scenery in the UK. Crystal clear rivers, winding gorges, wooded ravines and impressive cliffs create a dramatic backdrop to some of the best walks in Britain and provide a sanctuary for a wealth of wildlife.
The Derbyshire Dales, one of the most famous beauty spots in Britain. St Elphin’s Park is adjacent to the picturesque town of Darley Dale, which is less than two miles from Matlock and seven miles from Bakewell, the third largest market town in England. The Chatsworth Estate and Buxton, with its recently restored Opera House and famous Summer Arts Festival, are both nearby. Derby, Nottingham and Sheffield are within easy reach.

Steeped in history. Darley Dale was historically described as a village, although in truth it’s a collection of smaller communities that have grown together. The area, known simply as “Darley” until the end of the 19th century, expanded 200 years ago when road and rail links were improved. Its railway station from 1873 still remains, although it’s now part of a restored steam service run by enthusiasts.
The town itself offers people of all ages a wide range of facilities and a wealth of history. And over the centuries, it has been home to a number of influential and famous people, including Victorian mechanical engineer Sir Joseph Whitworth and the author of the Just William stories, Richmal Crompton.

Now Audley are sensitively restoring St Elphin’s Park, along with its grounds, and is creating a selection of spacious homes that will form a sophisticated new retirement village.
