Rasgos de Gracia Traces of Grace Dear Fellow Parishioners; Welcome to the New Year! If you are reading this article in our printed bulletin, then you are in the 25% category of parishioners who do. We are attempting as a parish to go more ‘green’ as well develop our ability to communicate via the internet in an effort to widen our communications. So you most likely have noticed that we run announce-ments up on the video projection screens before and after Mass, we utilize our projection capabilities for music as well as spoken parts for the revised Liturgy. This year we have also been able to expand possibilities for ill parishion-ers to pray the Mass while they are convalescing at home via our webcast of the 9am Sunday Mass. (It is true that being on camera adds 10lbs!) Go to our website, www.stedward.com and check out new opportunities for growth in our faith. You most likely are inundated with New Year’s resolu-tions, your own as well as recommended ones from well intentioned folks. Well, here is another one! Our staff and volunteers have been working hard for several months to create an internet portal for you to search out and re-spond more deeply to the Faith we profess. Just go to the parish website, www.stedward.com and click on ‘Seeking Faith’ in Adult Faith Formation. Click on the headers at the top which will take you to both powerful and profound insights into our Faith. Make a commitment to lose weight, or more time to walk on the beach, or more time with your family, but make a commitment also to plunge more deeply into the beauty and the mystery of our Faith. Check it out! Also, many thanks to those who made our Church so beautiful this year with the environment, music, song and hospitality. A lot of time, energy and love went into pre-paring for the Feast of the Nativity. May such beauty fos-ter in us the Paschal Mystery of the Lord in this coming New Year! Together in Christ; Fr Steve Sallot Pastor

“Prayer Shawl Ministry”“Prayer Shawl Ministry”“Prayer Shawl Ministry” Do you have time on your hands and yarn in your closets? Would you like to do something prayerful and productive? The Prayer Shawl Min-istry is looking for someone like you! Spend some time knitting or crocheting and chatting with Our Lord. Yes, you can “knit and chat” and spend some quality time praying for someone in need of comfort, someone you may or may not know. The purpose of this ministry is to give comfort to the sick brothers and sisters of our parish family. To let them know that we are praying for them and that these shawls/lap blan-kets are outward signs of this comfort. The shawls/lap blankets will be blessed by one of our priests and a prayer card will be placed with it. The shawls or lap blankets that you make will be given to a homebound or ill parishioner by a priest or Minister to the Sick and Homebound. You will pray for whoever receives the shawl and in return, they will pray for you when they re-ceive this gift. You don’t need to sign up and there are no time constraints. The shawl should be about 24” by 60” and the lap blanket about 48” by 60”. If you have any questions, please email Joia Smart at [email protected].

We meet on Wednesdays in Knight Hall 9:30-11:30 am beginning January 11, 2012. Shirley Filadelfia is the facilitator. Books will be available.
