ONTARIO CATHOLIC SCHOOL GRADUATE EXPECTATIONS
Each month we will highlight one of the seven Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations that help
define the distinct nature of Catholic Education. Please take time as a parent and with your children to
reflect on how each expectation is incorporated in your daily life and in the St. David learning community.
Vision of the Learner The Catholic School graduate is expected to be:
A Reflective, Creative, and Holistic Thinker Who solves problems and makes responsible decisions with an informed moral conscience for the common good.
Recognizes there is more grace in our world than sin and that hope is essential in facing all challenges.
Creates, adapts, evaluates new ideas in light of the common good.
Thinks reflectively and creatively to evaluate situations and solve problems.
Makes decisions in light of gospel values with an informed moral conscience.
Adopts a holistic approach to life by integrating learning from various subject areas and experience.
Examines, evaluates and applies knowledge of interdependent systems (physical, political, ethical, so-
cio-economic and ecological) for the development of a just and compassionate society.

Feb. 2 First Day of Semester 2
As we look ahead to the not too distant future we see the end of 1st
Semester looming on the horizon. Class work and assignments are
wrapping up and exams are right around the corner.
Do your best to study, eat and sleep well during this time…it will pay
off for you in the long run.
January will be a busy month with our regularly scheduled Masses; 2nd
Friday before the start of the school day, 2nd Wednesday with 2 classes
in our Chapel, and 3rd Tuesday with one class during Period 2 followed
by Reconciliation for Students and Staff over the lunch break.
When we think about the start of a new calendar year we sometimes
think about resolutions and how we want to try and live our lives
differently in the new year which has just begun.
As we turn the page on First Semester and dive head first into Second,
may the Peace, Love and Joy that we experienced during the Christmas
Season continue to give us the courage and strength we need to move
forward…taking one step at a time.
St. David, pray for us.
Mr. Ed

information regarding the final
