We have all been impacted by this virus in some way. There
is so much negativity on the news and in our day-to-day con-
versations that it can be hard to see the good happening in
our lives. I hope to shed some light on a few positive out-
comes our parish has experienced since March, especially in
regards to our youth programs.
Although we’ve had to postpone celebrating the sacraments
of First Communion and Confirmation, we have seen some
beautiful moments take place in the home of these families.
For example, our second grade students made their Holy
Eucharist retreat at home. Parents spent time doing activi-
ties, readings, and answering questions about Jesus. I had
multiple emails saying parents learned so much while work-
ing with their child, and how the retreat experience was an
intimate moment of faith building for the whole family. Who
would have thought COVID would bring us closer together as
a young family of faith?
Technology has become a vital part of our lives and relation-
ships since March. I am thankful to have had multiple video
check-in chats with our high school juniors and seniors,
where we have played games, shared concerns, and
laughed. I have also been able to pray the rosary and Divine
Mercy Chaplet using virtual platforms with parishioners and
families. We have shared prayer intentions and joined to-
gether in community using technology in ways we had not
been previously.
In recent weeks, I've had the opportunity to interview candi-
dates from all over the United States for two positions in our
new Family Ministry Team. Social distancing and budget ad-
justments have added some unexpected challenges, yet it
has given me a chance to see all of the wonderful people
who are yearning to teach about Jesus and create lasting
faith-relationships with families. I have also been research-
ing different youth curriculums for the fall that will allow for
parents to grow in faith with their children, to give our parish
families flexibility if students need to be home for a period of
time, and to give catechists the ability to teach one concept
that children in grades K-7 will learn together. COVID has
given us the opportunity to reevaluate our Faith Formation
priorities, and discovered that they are to empower and
equip each family within our parish with knowledge and en-
counter of our loving Lord, and to have committed disciples
of Jesus on staff in our Family Ministry Team to walk with
families as we all grow in faith together.
COVID has brought a great deal of negativity, but it has also
brought so much good. These changes in our program may
seem like a lot, but they are really only bringing us back to
our roots - equipping parents to teach the faith at home to
their children, building relationships with our youth and fami-
lies, and teaching as a team in the same way the apostles
did. Changes in our Faith Formation program can seem over-
whelming, but they have been guided by the Holy Spirit every
step of the way, and are bringing us closer to the only con-
stant in our ever-changing world - Jesus Christ, who is the
same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 3:8

HOW HAS FAITH FORMATION CHANGED SINCE COVID-19?
CATECHIST OPPORTUNITY
Thank you for supporting the Knights of Columbus brat
fry over this past weekend. It was a successful event
that helps us support our various charities that we
contribute to.
Do you realize that you
have the qualities to
become a Catechist?
We are looking for volunteers who are generous,
kind, loving and have a desire to teach children
about God’s love . The experiences that you can
provide for these children will stay with them for life
and the rewards for Catechists are great!
If once a week is too much of a commitment, you
are welcome to team up with a friend or two and
teach every couple of weeks instead. Or, you can
teach together- whatever works!
If you feel that this is something you would like to be
involved in or would simply like more information,
please contact Gina at 920-739-4157 or
email [email protected]
Thanks and we hope to hear from you soon!

MASS UPDATE
Partners in Mission – GLS builds bridges to vocational opportunity For nearly 40 years, Genesee Lake School (GLS) has provided strong, individualized education plans for individuals with intellec-
tual and developmental disabilities. At GLS, education goes beyond the classroom to include a range of vocational opportunities.
These jobs open the door for GLS graduates to have life options that may not otherwise be available to them.
An example of a vocational success story is Christian. Over two years, Christian worked in a variety of roles both on the GLS cam-
pus in Oconomowoc and in jobs within the nearby community. Christian learned early work skills doing office support, laundry and
custodial tasks, and work within GLS’s Homegrown Farms. As his vocational abilities grew, Christian worked at a local manufactur-
ing firm, in retail, and at a local pizza parlor.
Like many of us, Christian explored different types of jobs, and discovered what he enjoyed doing. Following his GLS graduation,
Christian earned a job at a McDonald’s near his home in Illinois, working 20 – 30 hours a week. Staff there say he’s doing
“amazingly well”. GLS is proud to transform lives, like Christian’s, by supporting the vocational development of those we serve.
Time to Celebrate!
Fr. Joe is celebrating his 25th anniversary to the Priesthood (and his birthday - #52) on July 8th.
We want to thank Fr. Joe for all he has done this past year and give thanks for his YES to God.
Next weekend, July 11th and 12th following all Masses, the Knights of Columbus along with volunteers
from Pastoral and Finance Council, will be providing brats and beverages to share in this joy filled time!
A sign-up genius will be going out so we can plan on the number of people attending for each Mass.
If you have any questions, please call (920-739-4157) or
email the parish office at [email protected].
The Building and Grounds
Committee would like to thank
the parishioners and Knights of
Columbus who came out to help
with the spring church
cleanup. Many hands made for
light work. The whole parish is
invited to participate in the fall
cleanup in October.
More information for that event
will follow in later bulletins.
