Fr. Todds Stewardship Reflection As we continue to reflect on stewardship on All Souls Day, I would like to

thank our Bereavement Ministry, the Sunshine Ministry, and all the

numerous people who donate food for the

meals we serve after funerals! Thank you for

all the great work you do behind the scenes to

offer comfort to families mourning the loss of

    loved ones.

May the souls of the faithful departed,

through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

    Fr. Todd

  • St. Monica Parish

    Mission Statement

    St. Monica Parish is a

    multi-cultural Catholic

    community advancing our faith by

making the Word of God come

    alive through prayer,

    liturgy, education,

    evangelization, and stewardship.

Legion of Mary St. Monica Legion of Mary invites you to

join them to recite the rosary every

Sunday in the daily Mass chapel at

    2:00pm (after 12:30pm Mass). The

rosary is recited in both English and

    Spanish.

    Welcome to Immigrants at

St. Monica! Trying to get answers or information on

how to find resources and services about

    employment, utility assistance, legal

advice, ESL, health care access, housing

and other services and programs? St.

    Monica Church has an Immigrant

    Welcome Center Branch open every

    Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Help is

    provided in Spanish, French, Kiswahili

    and English.

    Helping The Lords

Pantry The Lord's Pantry depends on the non-

perishable foods we bring in each week

and put in the blue food bin in the

Narthex. The Pantry services around 100

    clients each week, every Tuesday

morning from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at

    the Witherspoon Presbyterian Church,

5136 N. Michigan Road. For more

    information, please Bill Roeder

    (951-4905) or Susan Adoba (769-4412).

St. Martin de Porres Mass &

Pitch-In St. Martin was a Dominican lay brother

who lived in Peru from 1579-1639. He

was the son of a Spanish nobleman and a

    freed Panamanian slave woman of

African descent. St. Martin spent most of

his life humbly serving the sick, the

    enslaved and the poor.

On Monday, November 3, St. Anthony

Parish, located at 337 N Warman Ave., is

celebrating the feast day of St. Martin de

Porres at 7:00 PM with a Mass presided

over by Archbishop Tobin. Following the

    Mass there will be a pitch-in dinner;

everyone is asked to bring a dish from

your native country to share. For more

    information, contact the Archdiocese at

    317-236-1474.

appeal is $202,268. Registered parishioners should have received a mailing from the

Archdiocese of Indianapolis regarding the 2014 United Catholic Appeal. Please

prayerfully consider your gift to the United Catholic Appeal so we can continue to build

Craine House Holiday Wish List Our Neighbors at Craine House have a Holiday Wish List. They would like to give gift

bags to every woman in residence and they have a growing need for food for daily

meals. Please donate as generously as you are able. The collection of items from this

Holiday Wish List will be in the Narthex on the weekend of November 29 & 30. You

may also donate at the Advent Sunday Supper on November 30. The Wish List is in

this Bulletin, online and in the Narthex.

About Craine House: Craine House is a not-for-profit agency, a work-release

correctional facility for nonviolent female offenders and their preschool-aged children.

Craine House is truly a Work of Mercy on behalf of women who have lost their way,

committed a crime, and need to rebuild their lives. While living with their

preschool-aged children and meeting regularly with older children, the women

completing their court-ordered sentence at Craine House must find work, finish their

high school education, and participate in counseling and parenting classes. They have to

use public transportation and find their own child care. The program is highly structured

with little free time for the women: it is extremely monitored and strict (like any

correctional facility) as the women learn to turn their lives around. The best part of

Craine House is the proven effectiveness: women really are able to make a new life,

become good mothers, and end generations of poverty, abuse, and addiction. Ongoing

financial support is one very important need. Food has become another big need: since

moving across the street from St. Monica, Craine House expanded capacity from nine to

forty women and their children and the sources of food have not kept pace. There are

some limited volunteer opportunities including making deliveries, tutoring, childcare,

and mentoring. Visit www.crainehouse.org or call Anne Corcoran at 253-2193,ext. 5 for

    more information.

Holiday Wish List Craine House depends on the generosity of our community to meet the needs of the

women and children we serve. This year, we would like to put together one holiday gift

bag for each of the forty women at Craine House. The following is a list of items we

would like to include for each resident as well as holiday needs for our facility:
