How to download SSP G8

• In SSP G7 version 7.0.3.90 there is an automatic function for downloading SSP G8

• Yuo can also download the software directly from SWEP website:

https://www.swep.net/support/ssp-calculation-software/ssp-g8/

What will happen with SSP G7 and my license?

• Your existing license for SSP G7 will be valid for SSP G8 as well. Nothing has to be done.

• SSP G7 will still be available until year end of 2018.

• No new versions of G7 are to be expected.

• Switch to SSP G8 to be sure of having the latest products.

The new home menuThe new home menu is interactive and presents SWEPs product portfolio as well as the latest company news and upcoming events that we will attend.

Product portfolio

• The product portfolio by plate size is presented per size range.

• Clicking on the size leads you to the product site on swep.net

Case stories• A slide show of case stories are presented on

the home menu.

• Each case story can be read directly in SSP.

News and events• Same news as on swep.net is shown

• Articles are possible to read as summaries in SSP and the entire article is reached via SSP to swep.net

• New products can easily be promoted inside the selection tool.

Calculation menu• The calculation window contains the

same calculation and application windows as in G7.

• New structure of application templates is available.

Application structure

• The new application structure covers common applications for SWEP BPHEs.

• The structure starts at segment level and is divided further down on application and sub application level.

• Last level is a BPHE function presented as a calculation template.

Templates and tool tips

• On each level in the application structure there is an explanational text.

• On each BPHE function or calculation template there are some selection tips.

• The calculation templates aims to represent a typical case for the application and furthermore some typical BPHE models.

Saved calculations and favorites

• Saved SSP files are easily accessible.

• The source folder will be the one you most recently saved a SSP file into.

• To open another folder, use the browse button.

• Calculation windows or templates can be saved as favorites for easier access.

• Click on the star to save it as favorite, un-click the star to remove the favorite.

• The favorites can be rearranged by drag and drop according to your preference.

Calculation windows• To add a new tab, press

”new” or on the plus (+).

• ”New” will remember the location of the latest opened calculation window or template.

Click on the value to place cursor on specific place.

Click outside the value to mark antire input field.

Use toggle buttons to increase or decrease value.

Choose exchangers from the drop down list by simply pressing the Exchangers field

By entering letters the selection can be filtered and the exchanger on top is selected when pressing Enter-button

Right click on a selected heat exchanger to delete all but the selected one

Drag out calculation window

• Rearange the tabs by drag and drop

• Tear out a calculation window by clicking on the tab and drag it out.

• Have multiple calculation windows side by side.

• Put back a torn out window by click and drag the tab name back to the original tabs again.

Two-stack window is merged with single phase

• The two-stack calculation window is not longer available.

• Two-stack models are now instead available in the Single phase window.

Uneven true dual calculations – Requires dual license• In the evaporator dual window it is

now possible to simulate uneven load for true duals.

• The uneven load calculations are available in performance and rating mode.

• Activate the toggle button uneven load and write tha load factor as input.

• The load factor is defined as heat load ratio of circuit 1b comapred to the total heat load.

The side menu

• The side menu contains tools, product basket and settings.

• The menu is expandable by pressing the top button.

• Calculations menu is reachable from the side menu and from the home page.

Pressure/CIP check tool

• Use the integrated Pressure drop tool for generating calculated pressure drops at different flows.

• Evaluate if your installed unit needs to be cleaned by using the CIP check tool.

Fluid properties

• Check the physical properties of an SSP fluid by using the fluid properties tool

Fluid editor

• Create your own fluid by using the fluid editor tool

Notifications pane• The notifications pane gather messages and

contains settings.

• The notification pane is reachable through the cog wheel in the side menu or by clicking on any of the status symbols.

Change column settingsThe parameters in the results window can be changed according to your choice.

Move columns using drag and drop. Settings will be automatically saved to the calculation window.

Follow this to reach the column settings

Add or remove parametrs by selecting them and press the arrow buttons. If you hoover over the parameter the explanation will show up.
