Sarah Smith is located in North Atlanta and is divided into

two campuses: primary (K-2) and intermediate (3-5).

Media Center

The Media Center is staffed by one full time media specialist and amedia clerk who is there two days a week. Classes visit the media

center on a scheduled basis for 35 minutes once every two weeks.

The media center is centrally located on the first floor of the two

story building. To enter the school building, you must go through thefront office. The media center is directly to the left after you exit the

office.

Although small, our media center seems larger due to a two story

ceiling and windows. There is a workroom, a conferenceroom/reference room, and a storage room directly off the central

area. The media specialist has her own small office directly behind

the circulation desk. Only ten computers are housed in the media

center, but there is a Mac Lab right next to it with 25 computers.

supervision a challenge. It seats 4 students.

Workroom The workroom is very large and housesteacher resources like a scantron, dvds, and

butcher paper.

It has a sink and a few sets of built in

cabinets. It is underutilized because there are

two more convenient workrooms with copiers,

one in the office and one upstairs for 3rd and

4th grade classrooms on the second floor.

If a copier, the

laminator, and

paper cutters were

in this room,

teachers would be

in the media center

multiple times a

day.

are fairly well organized and things
