NRI ADMISSION NOTIFICATION

Applications are invited from the children of NRIs for admission into BVSc & A.H

Degree course of Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati under NRI quota

for the academic year 2012-13.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

ELIGIBILITY:-

(1) Applicants must be NRI ie., Children of NRI only. NRIs originally belonging to Andhra Pradesh will be preferred.

(2) A Pass in 10+2 or Two Year Intermediate examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the University or Board with the following subjects mainly. 1. Physical Sciences

2. Biological / Natural Sciences

3. English

(3) The candidate must have passed in each of the subjects of English, Physics,

Chemistry and Biology and obtained 50% marks in aggregate of these

subjects at the qualifying examination.

(4) Candidate must have studied in English Medium.

FEES:The admission fee is US $ 5,000 (in dollars) at the time of admission only and the

tuition fee is US$ 5,000 per year. In addition the candidate shall pay all other fees in

Indian rupees on par with other regular students every semester.

The fee amount shall be paid by the selected candidates in US $ 10,000 (in dollars) at

the time of counseling.

NUMBER OF SEATS:-

10 each in three Veterinary Colleges at Tirupati, Hyderabad and Gannavaram.

HOW TO APPLY:- Application form and Information Bulletin containing

eligibilitycriteria etc., for the above course can be

downloaded from website www.svvu.edu.in The duly

filled in downloaded application along with attested copies

of required certificates with a crossed demand draft for

100$ (US dollars) towards Registration fee drawn in

favour of Comptroller, SVVU, payable at Tirupati

(Andhra Pradesh) should reach the Registrar,

Administrative Office, Dr.Y.S.R.Bhawan, Tirupati -517

502 on or before 21-08-2012 by 4.00 PM. Applications

received after the due date will summarily be rejected

(Postal delay will not be entertained). The counseling

schedule will be intimated separately. Candidates must

INTRODUCTIONSri Venkateswara Veterinary was established during 2005 by carving out the

Veterinary, Dairy and Fishery Science faculties from Acharya N.G.Ranga Agricultural

University, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. This University is functioning with Tirupati as its

head quarters to impart education in different branches of Veterinary, Dairy and Fishery

Sciences, to promote farmer oriented and need based research to develop harvest and post

harvest technologies, to undertake the extension of such research findings, technology

generated etc to the rural areas of the state or improving livestock productivity and many

other activities that contribute to improving the economy o livestock owners, unemployed

youth, entrepreneurs etc.

College of Dairy Technology and also one Dairy Technology Programme besides 10 (Ten)

The College of Veterinary Science at Rajendranagar and Tirupati are well recognized

throughout the world and have celebrated their Diamond and Golden Jubilee celebrations

respectively. NTR college of Veterinary Science, Gannavaram is also well developed and

recognized college. All the colleges have well developed infrastructure to impart quality

education.

Number of Seats: 10 seats are available in each of the three colleges viz., College of

Veterinary Science, Tirupati, College of Veterinary Science, Rajendranagar and NTR

College of Veterinary Science, Gannavaram (Total No. of seats 30 only).

Criteria for selection:

a) The Selection of candidates under NRI quota is purely on the basis of marks obtained

in the subjects of Botany, zoology, Physics, Chemistry and English in the qualifying

examination (intermediate) or on its equivalent in abroad with the weightage of

(Biological Science / Botany & Zoology-200, Physics-100, Chemistry-100 and

English-100 i.e. Total=500).

b) In case of tie-up in the marks the selection will be done in the order of priority as specified below:

Percentage of marks obtained in Biology or Zoology and Botany taken together Percentage of marks in Chemistry Percentage of marks in Physics Percentage of marks in English Date of Birth – Seniority in age will be given preference

AGE: The candidates for admission shall be required to have completed 17 years of age as

on 31st December of the year of admission with an upper age limit of 22 years.

Residence in Hostel: Separate hostel facility will be provided to boys and girls. However

accommodation will be provided subject to availability of rooms.

Conveyance:

a) The candidates admitted to the Colleges of the University should make their own

arrangements for conveyance within the campus for attending classes as well as

practicals etc. It is desirable that each student maintains his own conveyance.

b) The students shall wear the prescribed dress for practical classes.

Certificates should be enclosed along with application:

The candidates for admission shall submit the following copies of certificates along with application form

i. Recent NRI status certificate of the candidate / Parents issued by the Indian Embassy with their seal. (Annexure-I)

ii. Employment certificate of NRI parent or incase of self employment nature of business annual income and proof thereof. (Annexure-II)

iii. Copy of Passport of candidate / NRI Parent.

iv. Copy of recent NRI bank Account of Parent. v. Qualifying mark list of the candidate must be enclosed. If grades are produced

certificate showing equivalent marks to grades.

vi. Proof of Date of Birth and place of Birth.

vii. Certificate showing that the candidate has undergone the qualifying school/college education in English Medium.

viii. Copy of the study certificates from VI class to Intermediate / equivalent.

ix. Copy of Transfer or equivalent certificate from the School / College last studied.

Original Certificates to be produced by the candidates at the time of Counseling

The candidates, who are called for counseling shall submit the following certificates in Original.

f. Certificate showing the candidate has undergone the qualifying school education in

English Medium.

g. Transfer or equivalent certificate from the school last studied.

h. Study certificates from VI class to Intermediate should be enclosed.

i. Two passport size photographs.

j. Certificate showing that qualifying examination is equivalent to 10+2 or two year

intermediate course.

k. The selected candidates shall produce medical fitness certificate from registered

medical officer to the concerned Associate Dean at the time registration of course.

REGISTRATION FEE: A crossed D.D. (original) for 100 US Dollars towards the registration fee drawn in favour of Comptroller, S.V.V.U. payable at Tirupati should be enclosed to the application.

Application duly filled in together with all the prescribed certificates along with

registration fee should be sent to “THE REGISTRAR, SRI VENKATESWARA

VETERINARY UNIVERSITY, ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE, DR.Y.S.R.BHAVAN,

TIRUPATI – 517 502” ANDHRA PRADESH (INDIA) so as to reach on or before

21-08-2012 by 4.00 P.M. The University shall not acknowledge the receipt of the filled in

application form. The University is not responsible for postal delay.

Applications received after due date will not be considered under any circumstances.

The candidates called for counseling shall have to attend at their own cost.

If any of the required certificates is not enclosed, the application is liable for rejection

summarily. Enclosures not received along with application will not be accepted later.

All admissions shall be deemed as provisional and subject to further scrutiny. They

shall be liable for cancellation at any stage during the study if it is found that the admission

was contrary to the rules or invalid by reason of incorrect or false information furnished by

the applicants or their parents/guardians at the time of admission. Any cancellation of

admission shall not exclude penal action under the relevant criminal law.

It shall be the discretion of the University to allot candidates to any of the three

Colleges.

The University (SVVU) reserves the right to cancel or vary any of these rules without

notice.

RAGGING: As per the provision of A.P. Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1997 ragging is a

crime. Hence the candidate and his/her parents have to give an undertaking (in the Proforma

enclosed to the application) stating that they are liable for punishment if the act is violated.
