Let us start Sri: Venkate:sa pu:ja, while visualizing Him in our hearts

With folded hands in Namaska:ra posture, open the palms slowly and show him the way from your heart into the picture/idol before you and request him to accept our puja

Now, let us offer a comfortable throne for Lord to be seated and to accept our pu:ja

Taking a little water with a spoon from a small bowl on your left side, show it to Lord’s hands, lotus feet and mouth, and feel as if we are washing his hands, feet and mouth gently and lovingly.

arghyam samarpaya:mi (show water to Lord’s hands and put in another bowl on your right side)

O:m Sri: Ve:nkate:sa:ya namaha pa:dyam samarpaya:mi (show water to Lord’s feet and put in another bowl on your right side – do twice) O:m Sri: Ve:nkate:sa:ya namaha a:chamani:yam samarpaya:mi (show water to Lord’s mouth put in another bowl on your right side – do thrice)

Offer a little water to Lord and imagine that you are giving him a warm water bath

O:m Sri: Ve:nkate:sa:ya namaha sna:nam samarpaya:mi

(take a flower petal in right hand, spoon full water in left hand, dip the flower petal lightly in water and sprinkle on Lord very gently two/three times as if we are giving him a warm scented water bath )

Offer a flower petal to Lord as soft towel after bath to dry out all the dampness

O:m Sri: Ve:nkate:sa:ya namaha plo:tha vasthram samarpaya:mi

(with a flower petal, wipe out dampness on Lord’s picture/idol) Offer a flower petal to Lord and imagine that He is wearing soft, yellow silk clothes.

O:m Sri: Ve:nkate:sa:ya namaha vasthra yugmam samarpaya:mi

Decorate Lord’s forehead with thilakam O:m Sri: Ve:nkate:sa:ya namaha u:rdhva pundra:n samarpaya:mi

(Take kumkum or sri:chu:rnam powder, mix up with a drop of water to make a paste, take a small lean stick and apply the paste in a long, vertical mark on Lord’s forehead)

Offer a flower to lord as a sacred thread

Offer cool sandal wood paste to Lord O:m Sri: Ve:nkate:sa:ya namaha

Divya sri chandanam samarpaya:mi

Offer ornaments such as rings, chains, flower garland etc to decorate and dress Him up

(Offer flower petals as ornaments or if you have real ones, offer them)

Take a flower petal, fill it up with love towards Lord by keeping it close to our heart and then offer to Lords lotus feet or decorate Lord’s picture/idol with it)

Light up an incense stick and offer the pleasant fragrance to Lord O:m Sri: Ve:nkate:sa:ya namaha

Light up an auspicious lamp and show it to Lord O:m Sri: Ve:nkate:sa:ya namaha di:pam sandarsaya:mi

Offer fruits, nuts and/or other naïve:dyam prepared to Lord with love

O:m Sri: Ve:nkate:sa:ya namaha naive:dyam samarpaya:mi

(Place all the offerings in front of Lord, sprinkle a little water on the items. Joining your thumb, middle finger, ring finger together, show each item to Lord’s mouth as if you are feeding him, offering a little water in between. While offering say “o:m. o:m. o:m”. When you feel that Lord is satisfied, offer a little water to wash his mouth and hands. And then show the offerings to Lord’s holy pariva:ram – family of devotees, servants and our Gurus. After all this, keep the offerings aside

Show a holy lamp (with 2 wicks and ghee) or camphor-lit lamp (Ha:rathi) to Lord, moving the lamp in a clockwise direction.

O:m Sri: Ve:nkate:sa:ya namaha Mangala ni:ra:janam samarpaya:mi

sriyah ka:ntha:ya kalya:na, nidhaye: nidhaye:rthina:m |

sri ve:nkata niva:sa:ya, sri:niva:sa:ya mangalam ||

mangala:sa:sana paraihi mada:cha:rya puro:gamaihi | sarvaischa pu:rvair a:cha:ryaihi sathkrutha:ya:sthu mangalam ||

(After ha:rathi, sprinkle a little water on the non-glowing edge of the Ha:rathi instrument and keep it aside. Offer water to Lord’s hands, lotus feet and mouth as done before ) Pray Lord to protect us from all evils, to give us good knowledge and behavior and to let the entire universe be happy and satisfied.

Lo:ka:h samastha:h sukhino: bhavanthu!

Oh! My God! please accept my little puja offered to you wholeheartedly and bless my country, bless my people, bless the whole universe so that all the creatures in this universe can live happily in a healthy environment.

Pray Lord to forgive our mistakes and conclude the puja by offering everything we do at the lotus feet of Lord for him to bless us as required.

Oh! My beloved God! I wanted to do the puja sincerely, but couldn’t foucs much, and may not chanted well, pl forgive me. And please accept my humble pranamas.

(With both the open palms joined together facing the sky, show them from Lord into our heart as if inviting Him back into our heart gently and lovingly)

Offer a flower as a nice bed and imagine that He is comfortably resting inside our heart. Also remember our guru and chant the sa:nthi manthram thanking them for conducting this pu:ja so wonderfully.

sarvam Sri Krushna:rpanam asthu O:m asmadgurubhyo: namaha

Chant the Sa:nthi manthram and thank all our Gurus and Rishis for enabling us to conduct the pu:ja wonderfully.

O:m pu:rnamidam pu:rnamadaha pu:rna:th pu:rnamudachyathe: | pu:rnasya pu:rnama:da:ya pu:rnam e:va:vasishyathe: || O:m Namah parama rushibhyo: namah parama rushibhyaha!! O:m Namah parama rushibhyo: namah parama rushibhyaha!! Take thi:rtham: Mix all holy water into one bowl. Take one spoonful of water at a time with left hand, into your right palm and drink without making any slurping sound as thi:rtham (also called as charana:mruth). Do this three times chanting the slokam aka:la murthyu haranam sarva vya:dhi nivaranam samastha pa:pa kshyakaram vishnu pado:dakam subham! Take prasa:dam and distribute it to everyone.
