Special Puja/Abishekam will be performed to Sri Ayyappa Swamy on the first five days of every Hindu calendar month. These poojas usually named after each Zodiac (Rasi) signs. This month puja called “Idapa” Masa Abishekam”. HASQ cordially invite all devotees to come and participate on this special Abishekam and get the blessing of Sri Ayyappa Swamy. Nei (Ghee) Abishekam will be performed after morning Puja 10:30am. monthly Maasa Abishekams are available for sponsor by devotees. Normally devotees choose the month for Abishekam according to their star and signs. Please contact the temple.
Lalitha Sahasra nama Stotram Chanting on Sunday 21 May 2017
Lalitha Sahasranamam (1000 names of Goddess Lalithambikai Devi) is a secret and very sacred text or mantra in Hindu religion. This mantra has been revealed to mankind through the discussion between lord Hayagriva and the great saga Agasthya. At Selvavinayakar Kovil every third Sunday of the month Lalitha Sahastra Nama parayanam being recited with special Poojai to Godess Lalithambikai.

Monthly Bajans and Religious talks on Friday 2 June 2017
Sri Selva Vinayakar (Ganesha) Temple encourages devotees to participate on monthly devotional bajans group. Bajans are held on the first Friday of each month with religious talk by special speakers after the evening Puja at 7.30pm. Please feel free to join the group and bring your instruments if you know to play at the bajans.

Vaikaasi Visaakam Festival on Wednesday 07 June 2017
Every year, Vaikasi Visakam is observed as the birthday of Lord Sri Subrahmanyar, during the Tamil month of Vaikasi (Mid May - mid June). Visakam is one of the 27 Nakshatras (Stars). Lord Subramaniar son of Lord Shiva and the chief general of the army of Devas(Gods) incarnated in this world to save the earth and end the sufferings of Devas from demons like Soorapadman. So the Vaikasi Visakam is celebrated to commemorate Subramanya Swami’s Birthday or Avathara day. The Vaikasi Visakam is celebrated in a grand manner in Murugan Temples around the world.

Sri Sathya narayanar pujai is generally performed on Full Moon day. Hindus believe that chanting the Lord Sathyanarayana’s name repeatedly and listening the Sathya Narayana Katha (religious stories) can
lead the devotee to achieve successful on his life.

Saiva Saint Thiru Gnagna Sampanthar Curu Pujai on Saturday 10 June 2017

Thiru Gnana Sampanthar - (A.D.641-657)
At around 700 AD, in the ancient town Chirkazi of the choza kingdom, Saint Sampanthar was born to a Shivaite Brahmin couple, Shivapada Hridayar and his wife Bhagavathiyar. Sampanthar mastered Sanskrit by the age of 3 and by 7 he was writing his own treatise on the Vedas. He concentrated on removing the undesirable traits in Hinduism, and he trained many followers in the true traditions of Vedas, Upanishads and Puranas. He trained his followers in the art of debate on Hindu religion.

Popular compositions: He started composing songs even when he was a toddler of just three years old and is believed to have written 16,000 verses in all, but less than 4,000 survive. His songs spread over 23 Panns (equivalent of Ragas). Sampanthar’s Thevarams (Songs) classified on first three Thiru Murais (a) First Thirumurai - 136 Pathikams on 136 different Siva Thalams (b) Second Thirumurai - 122 Pathikams on 122 different Siva Thalams (c) Third Thirumurai - 126 Pathikams on 126 different Siva Thalams
"Thirumurai" means a “Sacred Order”. That is the order of classification made by the Saiva Adiyar - Nambiaandaar Nambi of the available Tamil - Thiruppathikamgal and Thiruppaadalhal sung by Tamil Saivite - Naayanmaar, Swamihal and Adiyaar of Tamil Nadu, on the request of the Chola Emperor "Rajaraja Chola - 1(A.D.985 – 1014)" of Tamil Nadu.

Chathurthi (Krishna Paksha) which comes after Full moon day called Sankatahara Chathurthi. At our temple Lord Ganesha's pooja performed in the evening. It is believed that the person who does Sankatahara Chathurthi poojai will get relieved from all their worries and troubles.
