Important Note: It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to find out whether the

qualifying Degree is from a UGC recognized university/institute or not. The Directorate of

Distance Education will not issue the PG Degree Certificate even after the completion of the

course unless satisfied with the recognition of the lower Degree and the recognition of the

University/Institute that issued the lower Degree. The University reserves the right to cancel

4. How to apply:

The login is provided for P.G. courses through our website www.skucde.com

The candidate should Register first and then go to login.

Fill the Application form.

Go to Online Payment screen and pay the application fee.

Take your Application Printout.

The candidate should sign in the filled in Application Form.

The candidate should preserve a copy of Bank Receipt and filled in application form

for further correspondence if any.

The candidates are required to submit the following Xerox copies of the certificates along

with the filled in application form.

1. SSC Marks Memo

2. Intermediate Marks Memo

3. Degree Marks memos and Provisional or Original Degree certificate along with

one set of Xerox copies.

4. The copy of Bank receipt towards the Course Fee.

candidate should be clearly visible in the uploaded photograph.

5. Admission procedure

Eligible candidates will be given admission after scrutiny of the original certificates, Bank

Receipt pertaining to the Course fee etc., enclosed to the application. Admission is open to all

those who have the prescribed qualifications. Candidates selected for admission will receive

the admission intimation cards by post. Director of DDE reserves right to cancel admission

of an ineligible candidates at any stage of the course.

Note 1: The application will be summarily rejected if there is any discrepancy in between the

information in the application and the supporting documents.

Note 2: Once a candidate is declared eligible for admission, the fee will not be refunded

under any circumstances.

Note 3: Admission cannot be claimed as a matter of right. If adequate number of candidates

is not enrolled for any particular course, the University reserves the right to discontinue the

course. In such a case, the course fee and other certificates will be returned.

Returning of Originals

The original pass certificates and the statements of marks will be returned to the candidate

along with admission memo after scrutiny and finalization of admission.

6. Enrolment Number and Identity Card

The Directorate will issue an Identity Card and assign an Enrolment Number to all

admitted candidates. The candidate is instructed to keep their Identity Card safely till the

completion of the course and must bring their Identity Card at the time of Personal Contact

Programme and during all the Examinations. For all correspondence, the Enrolment Number

should be invariably mentioned.

Candidates who have lost their Identity Card can obtain a duplicate Identity Card from the

DDE by submitting Demand Draft for Rs.150/- along with a requisition and stamp size

photograph.

7. Study Material

The DDE will send the Study Material by post or in person to the admitted candidates along

with a copy of syllabus and assignment question paper of the course.

Note: The study material will be issued immediately for those who have paid course fee.

8. Assignments

There is internal assessment in the evaluation of the candidate performance in the distance

education programmes. The Assignment carries 25 Marks (30 Marks for M.B.A.) in each

paper for all the courses. Assignment question papers are made available in the University

DDE website in the first week of May and students must submit the same on or before 30-08-

2016 without fail. No assignment will be accepted, after the last date. Submission of the

assignments is compulsory and is reckoned for internal assessment marks for all the courses.

Candidates have to secure a minimum prescribed score. Candidates who fail to submit the

assignments within the prescribed time will forfeit the internal assessment marks and they

automatically fail in the examination. The assignments should be in the candidates own

handwriting. The assignments should be answered by the candidates on good quality A4 size

papers and submitted to the Director, DDE as per schedule. Typewritten / Photocopy /

Computer printout will summarily be rejected.

The paper wise Assignments should be submitted by Registered post/by person. The DDE

has arranged to issue acknowledgement for the receipt of assignments. The candidates are

informed to send a self addressed stamped envelope for acknowledgement. The candidate has

to ensure that the assignments are received within the prescribed time. The DDE is not

responsible for any type of postal delays/lapses.

9. Personal Contact Programme:

The Personal Contact Programmes for M.A, M.Sc, M.Com, M.B.A, and B.L.I.Sc. courses

will be conducted in the concerned departments of the University. Apart from the theory

classes, practical classes will also be held.

The Personal Contact Programme (PCP) is designed to help the learners with classroom

counselling to cover the syllabus. Lectures are arranged on select topics. The candidates can

interact with the teachers and seek clarifications on the subject.

Personal Contact Programme Classes for all the courses are conducted for six days every year

for all Arts courses and M.Sc. Mathematics and 28 days for all Science courses.

75% attendance for PCP classes is compulsory for all Science & B.LI.Sc course. Those

who fail to fulfill the required attendance are not allowed for the examinations under

any circumstances.

The dates of the Personal Contact Programme classes will be conducted during summer

vacation in between 01-06-2016 to 28-06-2016.

The candidates should make their own arrangements for lodging and boarding for attending

the PCP classes.

10. Examinations Information:

Registration for the Examinations

The yearend University examinations will be held in the month of July/August 2016. The

dates of examination will be made available in the University DDE website by 1st week of

June 2016.

Candidates appearing for I/II/III year regular examinations need not pay the

Examination Fee since the examination fee is collected along with the Course fee.

If the candidate fails to appear for examination in time he / she can appear for the subsequent

examination within the stipulated duration on payment of the prescribed examination fee.

There is no detention system in distance education. Candidates who have failed in any year

are allowed to continue the course of study for the next year. No provision will be available

for supplementary examinations under distance education mode.

The Examination Application Forms for supplementary candidates must be

downloaded from the DDE websites: www.sku-dde.com or www.skucde.com.

The Hall Tickets are sent directly to the candidates by post/ through study centers. The

Examination Centre is indicated on the Hall-Ticket/DDE websites: www.sku-dde.com or

www.skucde.com.

Those who do not receive the Hall Ticket by post have to approach the Chief Superintendent

of the Examination Centre with the Demand draft for Rs.100/-, one passport size photographs

and the Identity Card for obtaining a duplicate Hall Ticket.

The examinations (both practical and theory papers) for the Science Course students will be

held in allotted Regional Study Centres only.

The University Examination consists of two components – External and Internal. The

External and Internal Examinations carry 75 marks (70 for M.B.A) and 25 marks (30 for

M.B.A) marks respectively.

The Internal Examinations constitute the assessment of assignments submitted by the

candidates. External Examinations will be held in the month of July/August 2016 for all the

courses.

A candidate has to secure 35 marks to pass in each paper. The maximum marks for the

examination for each paper is 100, out of which internal assessment carries 25 marks (30 for

M.B.A) and external examination 75 marks (70 for M.B.A). The internal marks are the

marks allotted for assignments. The candidate should secure at least 26 marks (25 for M.B.A)

in the external examination and 9 marks (10 for M.B.A) in the internal assessment to pass an

examination. However, the candidate has to secure an aggregate of 40% of marks on the

whole to be declared to have passed the whole examination.

Candidates may reappear for the failed papers in subsequent examinations and pass in

those papers. They should complete the course during the maximum period of the

validity of their registration.

Candidates who do not secure minimum marks in external examination in a paper should

reappear for the external examination of that paper as and when it is held and obtain at least

the passing minimum, 26 marks (25 for M.B.A).

Candidates who do not secure minimum marks in the internal assessment of a paper should

submit the assignment /Internal assessment of that paper within three months from the date

of publication of results of the respective examinations. Only three successive chances from

the date of registration will be given to candidates for securing minimum marks in the

assignments, irrespective of whether they avail themselves of the chances or not.

Candidates who have completed their grace period of three years for submission of

assignments may submit their assignments before the end of the third year with a penal fee of

Rs.50/- per assignment.

Revaluation

There is a provision for revaluation of paper/s as per the University rules on payment of the

fee prescribed by the DDE. Those who wish to have revaluation of the paper/s have to apply

within 21 days from the date of issue of marks memorandum. After expiry of this date,

the request will not be considered.

Award of Class for Successful Candidates

Successful candidates will be awarded class on the basis of the total marks obtained by them

in the first, second and third year examinations taken together as described below.

First Class with Distinction will be awarded to those who obtain not less than 70% of the

total marks. First class will be awarded to those who obtain 60% of marks and above and

below 70% of the total marks.

Second Class will be awarded to those who obtain 50% of marks and above and below 60%.

Third Class shall be awarded to the rest of the successful candidates obtaining a minimum of

40% of marks as specified.

Note: a) Candidates who wish to appear for improvement of class should not apply for the

Provisional/Original Degree Certificates

b) The candidate who wish to appear for improvement provision will be for First /

Second / Third year by online payment for Rs.1500/- through our

website.www.skucde.com or www.sku-dde.com

11. How to get the Certificates

Those who wish to get the following certificates have to apply in the prescribed format

available either at the DDE office or in the website along with the online payment.

12. General Instructions to the Candidates:

1. Validity of the Admission/Registration:

(a) Candidates who are admitted to a one year course can complete the course within

three years from the date of admission, failing which their admission stands

automatically cancelled.

(b) Candidates who are admitted to a two year course can complete the course within

six years from the date of admission, failing which their admission stands

automatically cancelled.

(c) Candidates who are admitted to a three year course can complete the course

within nine years from the date of admission, failing which their admission stands

automatically cancelled.

2. If adequate number of candidates are not enrolled for any particular course/group of

subjects, the University reserves the right to withdraw that course/group.

3. If adequate number of candidates are not enrolled in any particular study centre, the

candidates are allotted to the other Study centre where the course/group is offered and

the decision of the University is final.

4. Candidates are advised to preserve this Prospectus, Identity Card and fee receipts till

they complete their course.

5. The candidates should write full Address for Correspondence clearly. In the event of

any change in the address, the candidate should inform to the DDE along with the

challan/ on-line transfer or a Demand Draft for Rs.50/-

6. Attendance of candidates for PCP and practical classes is compulsory for Science, and

Professional courses.

7. Candidates are advised to be in touch with the DDE website: www.sku-dde.com for

any information from time to time.

8. Choice of the course once indicated at the time of applying is final. No change is be

permitted.

9. Course Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
