Good evening everyone.
I’d like to welcome the Bootle supporters, players and committee to Squires Gate, in what will be a key game for
us as results have been disappointing of late and I’ll be expecting a marked improvement tonight. In some games,
we have been playing well from the start but in others we are taking 20-25 minutes to get into the game which
for me isn’t good enough.
“I’ll be expecting a marked improvement tonight”
On Saturday against Winsford we were excellent between both boxes but we just need a bit of luck in the final
third. Scoring goals is the hardest thing to do on a football field and we've lost the knack recently. We understand
it’s frustrating for supporters to watch but it will eventually come. We are creating some goal scoring opportuni-
ties but unable to put them away.
“We just need a bit of luck in the final third”
That said were still playing some good stuff and I'm sure one will go in off our ear sooner rather than later. Well
we definitely need it to, with the games we have coming up. It’s going to be a tough run in to stay in this division
but I think we have a squad capable of survival. I don’t like to use the cliché but we are just focusing on each
game as it comes.
“It’s going to be a tough run in to stay in this division”
There's a good buzz around the place and let's hope we can take that forward into tonight's game. Let's hope we
see some goal and a positive result for the lads. Id also like to give a special mention to Albert Cooper who turns
80 tomorrow. That’s it from me,
Up the Gate!
Ben Fletcher (Sponsored by S.E.I. [Maintenance] LTD)
Superb young shot stopper that had a tremendous season last year. He kept numerous clean sheets
and played every single minute of every single game. 2015/16 will be his 3rd season with the club
where he’ll be looking to continue his fine form.
Nathan Trout (Available for sponsorship)
Nathan moved to the Fylde coast from Liverpool. A ball winning centre half that has a big presence
on the pitch, he’ll be hoping to force his way into the team and make his position his own.
Alex Colquhoun (Available for sponsorship)
After a short spell at the club last season, Alex has returned to the club hungry and determined to
play on a regular basis. He showed signs of quality last season and will be looking to cement his place
in the 2015/16 season.
Brett Ferguson (Sponsored by Service Solutions Direct Ltd)
One of the main characters within the changing room, “Channy” as he is called, always has stories to
tell, consistently produced good displays during last season and got on the score sheet on numerous
occasions. A very adaptable player that has made a huge impression on all within the club. Winner of
Clubman of the Year 2014/15.
Andy Richards (Available for sponsorship)
A club stalwart! ‘Rico’ as he is known, has been with the club for many seasons and has become a
linchpin of the side. His performances and changing room experience has played a vital role in recent
success. A player with many superstitions that is well liked at the club.
Josh Westwood (Sponsored by Mark Ashmore)
Josh was a rock at the heart of defence during last season. He produced some fine individual displays
and chipped in with a few headed goals. A quiet individual but very popular player that lets his feet,
or head do the talking. Josh is also adaptable to play up front.
Mike Hall (Available for sponsorship)
Mike was only with Gate briefly last season but his knowledge and experience of the game was bene-
ficial to all that played alongside him. He was influential in his performances and will be looking to
have the same impact throughout the 2015/16 season.
Conah Bishop (Available for sponsorship)
Conah is one of the youngest players in the squad and plays on the right side of midfield. He has the
pace to run at the opposition and can also score goals. He is a great addition to the team.
Joe Noblet (Available for sponsorship)
Joe had a spell with Gate a few seasons ago, and returned under the new management of Danny
Penswick. He is an attacking midfielder with an eye for goal and will be sure to add goals to the
squad.
Alex McKendrick (Available for sponsorship)
Alex has been at the club for a number of seasons, first arriving under the stewardship of ex
manager Russ McKenna. His work rate and willingness to do the unfashionable jobs in a
game have been hugely important to the team. Injury put a halt to his 2014/15 season but
he’ll be looking to come back a stronger player this season.
Billy McKenna (Available for sponsorship)
The flying winger missed a large part of last season due to injury but is looking to make the
right midfield position his own. A popular player within the changing room that can have a
big influence on games when in the mood.
Antony Stayte (Available for sponsorship)
Stayte is a great addition to the squad, who brings experience from his time at AFC Fylde
and from teams in a higher tier. He knows how to organise and motivate his team mates
and is very good at holding the ball up.
Ashley Rowley (Sponsored by TravelCare World)
Ash joined Gate towards the end of last season, and impressed in the time he played. He
scored a crucial equaliser at home to Congleton Town and will be looking to have an impact
this season.
Danny Penswick (Sponsored by Bill White)
Danny is the manager and captain of the club. He first joined midway through the 2013/14
season and soon established himself as a leader and highly influential player. His game un-
derstanding and levels of performance have seen him become a focal point of the team.
Mark Buchan (Available for sponsorship)
Mark models himself on Ally McCoist. A fiery Scot that knows where the goal is. His work-
manlike performances often go unnoticed, but he scored some valuable goals during last
season. An influential player both on and off the pitch and will be a key player during this
season.
Aaron Clarke (Available for sponsorship)
Aaron was part of the Kirkham and Wesham squad which was victorious at Wembley in
2008. Unfortunately for Aaron, he picked up an injury the week before the final so didn’t
take part in the game. A quick striker who possesses skill and eye for a pass and can also
play in behind the striker in attacking midfield. Aaron will be looking to cement a spot up
top and to fire Gate up the table.
Ryan Tanser (Available for sponsorship)
Ryan joined the club in October and came off the bench in the 5-2 defeat away at Atherton
Collieries. He scored his first goal for the club on his first full debut in our 5-1 win over
Maine Road in the MEN United cup. He will bring goals to the team for sure.

Squires Gate welcomed Abbey Hey
to The Royal British Legion Stadium
on Saturday looking to bounce back
from Easter Monday's Derby day
loss against AFC Blackpool.
Gate welcomed back Nathan Trout
and Jamie Gibson into the starting
11 aswell as Ryan Riley who started
on the bench.
Riley wouldn't have to wait long
before his introduction though.
Mark Buchan pulling his groin after
20 minutes meant Riley would be
put to use. Before then Gate had
started well with Buchan being in-
volved throughout. Billy McKenna
had several chances in the first 10
minutes but perhaps took a touch
too many before passing or
shooting, allowing the Hey defender
to win the ball.
The visitors first chance of the game
came after 8 minutes but good work
by Ryan Tanser to track back out the
winger off who shot
wide. Recently subbed Ryan Riley
had his first chance of the game
since coming on when
he almost chipped the Abbey Hey
keeper. Almost an instant impact
from the sub in his first piece of
action of they year, but the ball
dropped the wrong side of the post.
Abbey Hey had their best spell of the
game in a mad five minutes. First their
winger had a shot easily saved from
Woods. Then the visitors had four con-
tinuous corners to worry Gate before
George Noon finally fired wide. The
last chance of the half came to Gate and
was probably their best of the first half.
The referee stopping play for a pass back
to Abbey Hey's keeper which was picked
up. But unfortunately the direct free
kick came to nothing for Gate and the ref
blew for half time.
Half Time: Squires Gate 0-0 Abbey Hey
The away side started the better side in
the second half with Ashford Blake
cutting in off the right hand side before
shooting wide. Great play from Joe
Noblet set up Gates next chance. His ball
across the pitch to find Billy Mckenna in
space and to send him clear on goal but
they Abbey Hey defender did well to
recover and clear.
Gate had three clear chances to open
the scoring on 70 minutes which were
their best of the game. First Josh West-
wood hit the bar with a header. Then
Nathan Trout had a shot cleared off the
line before Ryan Riley's scrambled effort
was cleared. Three easy chances missed
for Gate.
Gate had Josh Woods to thank after 74
minutes when he did well to save an effort
from Sam Hind at the near post
Gate could have won the game late on with
a late free kick. But Ryan Riley's free kick
cannoned straight off the wall in the 90th
minute.
The result see's Gate move one point fur-
ther away from the relegation zone with
every other club around them loosing to-
day. Gate are next in action next Saturday
when they travel to 14th place Winsford
United.

Squires Gate made it four
games without scoring and six
games without a win as they
went down 2-0 away at Wins-
ford.
Gate were missing defender
Josh Westwood who had been
superb so far at the back but
welcomed back player/
manager Danny Penswick in his
place.
Gate had some early scrappy
shots to start the half as they
pressured the home side. Ryan
Tanser and Joe Noblet both
had early chances but neither
connected with the ball as they
would have liked.
Against the run of play the
homeside took the lead. The
ball played over the top from
defence found the run of Ryan
Mellor who hit the ball first
time to beat Woods in goal.
The score line was a harsh one
on Gate but had they had tak-
en the early chances it would
have been a lot different.
Joe Noblet was the next to try his
luck after the Winsford keeper Lat-
ham scuffed his kick. The ball landed
at Joes feet but he scuffed his kick
and the ball dribbled back into a
grateful keepers hands.
chances to at least equalise with
both Noblet, Stayte and Gibson hav-
ing chances as the half came to an
end.
Neither team really had a clear
chance until ten minutes into the
second half. Jamie Gibson working
hard to put the keeper under pres-
sure to put the ball out. But Gate
couldn't capitalise from his good
work from the corner which came to
nothing.
The game started to settle with nei-
ther team really creating a chance.
But then the homeside saw their
chance and struck again. The ball
played in from the right hand side
found Winsford captain Kyle Riley to
head past Woods.
Gates best chance of the second half
came from a Freekick. Joe Noblet
fired the ball into the penalty spot
but Ryan Tanser could only head
over.
That would be Gates last chance of a
disappointing second half. Winsford
happy to see out the point whilst Gate
didn't look like threatening with heads
dropped.
Winsfords last chance of the game
had Gates hearts in mouths. The
homeside having a goal ruled out in
the 91st minute for a foul on Josh
Woods.

The original Bootle F.C. were formed in 1880 and played at Hawthorne Road. They were in fact Everton FC ’s biggest rivals. The Bucks
where the first ever winners of the Liverpool Senior Cup, had in their ranks the first black footballer in Andrew Watson and regularly
had bigger crowds than their neighbours. In 1889–90 Bootle became founder members of the Football Alliance, narrowly missing out on
the football league the previous season. When the Alliance merged with the Football League in 1892, Bootle became founder members
of the new Second Division. However, despite a respectable 8th place final position, the club dropped out after one season due to finan-
cial difficulties and the attraction of Everton playing in the First Division. They were replaced by new neighbours, LiverpoolA year later
the Bucks joined the Lancashire Combination, which was won in 1976 and 1977. Bootle then joined the Second Division of the Cheshire
County League, which was won in our first season, and we were promoted to the First Division. In 1982 the Cheshire County League was
one of the leagues that merged to form the North West Counties League, which Bootle duly joined, becoming a founder member of the
First Division. The club spent most of their time in the First Division until 2000 when we unfortunately dropped into the Second Division.
However, despite finishing 6th in 2002, the club, having to move away from Bucks Park on Copy Lane, dropped into the Liverpool Coun-
ty Combination. After several seasons of work behind the scenes and survival on the pitch the Bucks finally acquired a new home.In
2006 the club, with a new venue on a developing Vesty Road, the club were elected back into Division 2 of the North West Counties
League. In 2009 Bootle won promotion to the NWCL Premier Division and also won the Championship under the guidance of Chris
O’Brien. In 2009/10, our first season back in the NWCFL Premier Division Bootle finished a NWCFL highest placing of 3rd. In 2010/11
finished 6th place. They equalled the 3rd place again in 2012 this time with Neil Prince at the helm. Prince also lifted the Senior Cup as
Bootle manager - the first to do so in 100 years. After an indifferent second season Prince was replaced by Joseph Doran. Doran has
gone about to replenish the squad with exciting local young players and all at the club are hoping these lads fulfil their potential.

Bootle pushed up on the pitch, winning a corner, which was cleared, only for it to be returned, and within five minutes
James Riley, came in from the right to put them in the lead. Gate looked as though they would soon draw level, with Sower-
by running at the defence, only to be blocked by the advancing Porter. Then McKenna, and Richards having shots, but with-
out testing the keeper. While at the other end, Ben Fletcher was called upon to come to the rescue when Connor Christian-
sen broke free to shoot. He made a couple of blocks as the visitors broke through Gate’s defenders. On the half hour Bootle
went 2 up when Lee Thompson buried a free kick into the top corner, giving Fletcher no chance. Gate worked the ball down
both flanks, and on 45mins the stroke of half time a cross from Seydou Bamba, was collected by Jack Sowerby, who calmly
scored from 26 yards, and the home side went into the break looking on top.
The second half saw Gate pushing forward and a goal looked imminent as shots from, Richards, Carney, Sowerby, Russell,
were blocked and deflected, while the visitors looked happy to absorb all that Gate threw at them, and relying on long clear-
ances for breakaways, and would count themselves unlucky, as the ball was cleared off the line several times. But goal num-
ber three was a carbon copy of the last home game conceded two weeks earlier, Bootle chased down the right after a long
clearance, and the winger was brought down within feet of the corner flag. The resulting free kick was met by Grant Pruden,
for goal number three on 63 minutes. The visitor’s goal area was the busiest place for the closing 15mins of the game, but
their defence held firm, against all that Gate threw at them. Max Rothwell, came on for his first game of the season, after
suffering a broken leg at the end of last season, but Gate lost leading scorer Jack Sowerby with a calf injury. Andy Richards
effort brought a save from Porter, and the long clearance, was met by Ben Fletcher, his clearance hitting advancing forwards
shins, who fell from the impact. To the surprise of all, the referee surprisingly awarded a penalty, which Jamie Hay convert-
ed on 90+ minutes, the 22nd goal against Squires Gate, in the last 8 games.

The Bootle defence was kept busy in the opening 15 minutes with plenty of play happening in the home sides half. It wasn't
until 30 minutes in that Gate had the first real chance of the game the ball falling to the edge of the box and with the keeper
down the last man seemed to have handled the ball on the line to stop a certain goal, with the ref ruling in favour of the
home side.
Jack Sowerby Harry Dunn and Sam Dickinson each had great chances of putting Gate ahead but their efforts on goal swerved
across the goalmouth line and out of play into safety, Gate again kept the pressure on and ended the half the better of the
two. Into the second half and it was the home side who came out on top, Gate keeper Ben Fletcher pulling off several fine
saves to deny the home side. Onto the 60th minute and the attacking trio of Mckenna, Sowerby and Dunn continued to
cause the home side's defence all kinds of trouble. The latter in that list lined up a free kick on 69th minutes after a foul on
Sowerby only for the free kick to be saved in the hands of the home sides goal keeper. en Fletcher found himself just outside
the right hand side of his area attempting to clear the ball, when he was adjudged to have handled the ball outside his area,
the ref pointed to the spot, up came the the kick, and Ben managed to get a fingertip to it and the danger was over. It was
the home side who broke the deadlock on 74 minutes, great work down the left hand side saw Emini Adegbenro fire low
past Ben Fletcher in goal. The home sides goal looked to unleash a new level of pressure in Gate's ranks and they replied just
5 minutes later, good work from debutant Harry Dunn found Jack Sowerby in the 6 yard box who slotted home with ease
Gate’s Mark Buchan was the next closest to breaking the deadlock as he brought an instinctive save from the legs of the
opposing keeper Joshua Clark. The last chance of the first half came to the visitors as a nice interchange between Michael
Roberts and Kurt Sherlock put in Christopher Tyson in the area but his shot went well wide. As the first half drew to a close
it was the away side who ended the strongest .It was Gate who came closest just after the break as Josh Westwood sent his
header just the wrong side of the post and soon after Bootle went straight down the other end and had three shots saved
on the line as Gate managed to clear a goalmouth scramble. Gate needed to respond and did just that in the 53rd minute as
Alex Murhy scored directly from a low whipped free-kick, which was unchallenged by anybody in the box. when Bootle felt
they had a strong case for a penalty but the referee waved it away. Gate almost doubled their in the 75th minute as Murphy
picked up the ball outside the box and fired a shot which the keeper Clark parried up onto the post, but was quickly smoth-
ered by the keeper. Two minutes later Gate thought that they had sealed the win with sub debutant James Edmonds
putting the ball into the back of the net after a good cross from Jake Forshaw. .
This week we also spoke to Manchester City and Chadderton fan Alex Howell. If you want to read more about his adventures, visit his
blog (thebundesligauk,wordpress.com). Alex lives in the north west and has visited Squires Gate many times but mainly focuses on com-
pleting the German Bundesliga list, he also lists Gate as his “2nd non league club”. Here’s what he had to say;
First of all, what encouraged you to start your footballing adventures?
I'd say it was just my love for football, which my Dad instilled me with. Living in the North West provides you an
opportunity to visit so many grounds and naturally following my Premier League side, Manchester City, I accumu-
lated a number of different venues. From then on, it's just become a bigger and bigger obsession to see as many
games in as many different locations, at many various levels. Wherever I go, I always look for the closest football
ground!
What is the best part about non league?
The best part about non league has to be the feeling of being valued, and the camaraderie you experience. You
can meet some right characters and you feel as if your input into the club can have a lasting difference. Non
league clubs still represent the heart of their local communities and to be able to see and experience this, is a re-
al treat.
How many grounds have you visited now?
Too many! In terms of other groundhoppers, I'm fairly inexperienced compared to others but I feel I've managed
my fair share. My current tally stands at 72, but I'm eager to hit the one hundred mark. As a fan of German foot-
ball, I'm hoping to be able to have completed all grounds within the top two divisions.
Do you have any favourites, and have you visited any obscure grounds?
My favourite has to be my local side, Chadderton FC. There's nothing particularly special about Andrew Street
(apart from the time when someone turned up in a crane!) but as my local side it holds a special place for me. I
also quite like the Anchor Ground, home of AFC Darwen; a club that has so much history. Maine Road, in all its
rough round the edges self, has to be up there.
In terms of obscurity, that prize would have to go to Saint Pierre Plouescat who play at the Stade Prat Ar Goasven
and compete in the Northern Finistere division, of the Brittany football league. I'd wager not many other ground-
hoppers had ventured to this region of France before, let alone Saint Pierre Plouescat. That'd definitely be my
trump card!
What has been the most memorable moment that you have seen for a club? (Cup wins, etc)
Following Manchester City rather seriously across England, as well as on the continent, has provided evidently a
number of great moments. However, the top moments have to be ending the long trophy drought in 2011 with
the FA Cup, the 6-1 at Old Trafford in the same year and that standout moment in English football at the end of
that season - "Agueroooo".
In terms of non league, even though we ended up on the losing side, last seasons North West Counties Division 2
If you were to pick a "dream XI" of players that you have seen live. Who would you pick? (teams in brackets)
Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich)
Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich)
Carles Puyol (FC Barcelona)
Vincent Kompany (Manchester City)
Ashley Cole (Chelsea)
Andres Iniesta (FC Barcelona)
Xavi (FC Barcelona)
Thomas Müller (Bayern Munich)
Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)
David Villa (FC Barcelona)
Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona)
What has been the best goal you have ever seen? From PL to non league?
Perhaps not the best technically, but it has to be Sergio Aguero against QPR in 2012, or "Aguerooooo" once
again. In terms of skills, either Peter Crouch versus City or Yaya Toure against Sunderland at Wembley.
Have you ever been to Squires Gate before, if so what was the score?
I have, on two occasions. I have family in Lytham, and Squires Gate is the closest non league team. I'd actually
consider Squires as my second non league side. The first time was on Non League day 2014 against Barnoldswick
Town which ended 0-0 and the second was
against Runcorn Town on the 4th April last sea-
son, which ended 2-0.
What has been the best, and worst game that
you have watched this season? And during
your adventures?
The best game I've been to this season was in
Germany, when in Ingolstadt. It was an entirely
different experience to English football, and I can see why people become so fond of the German game.
The best game itself would be Manchester City's victory away at Crystal Palace for Kelechi Iheanacho's late goal
that introduced him to the national stage.
The worst is easily, Chadderton FC's bore 0-0 home draw with Backup Borough on a cold Tuesday night. Not one
to remember, that's for sure!
Is there any grounds that you are looking forward to attending over the next couple of months?
Squires Gate again! It's been too long since I was at the Royal British Legion stadium and so I can't wait to be

As part of our new regular feature, we speak to groundhoppers who travel up and down the country to watch football, and ask them about their football adventures This
week we speak to Chelsea fan Adam Thurston. If you want to read more about his adventures, visit his blog (adamthurstongroundhoppingblog.wordpress.com). Here’s
what he had to say;
First of all, what encouraged you to start your footballing adventures?
Honestly? I have no idea. I had just started playing again on Sundays and had a Monday to Fri day job so I guess it was to just fill my Saturdays up! It all started with a
random FA Cup game at the Cardiff City Stadium where it finished Cardiff City 3-1 Colchester United... It just went on from there.
What is the best part about non-league?
To start with, it was the cheaper tickets. Then I began to realise that Non League was more 'real' than my normal football. These are honest blokes who are doing this as a
hobby rather than a job earning god knows how much per week. In addition to this I guess it was the more locality of the games, seeing more traditional grounds and
meeting local people!
How many grounds have you visited now?
At the time of writing, I am at 62 but that doesn't include all the grounds I have previously played at over the years.
Do you have any favourites, and have you visited any obscure grounds?
I don't know why but I absolutely love Old Trafford. It is my favourite ground. As a Chelsea fan this probably isn't favourable amongst the Blues' fans!
What has been the most memorable moment that you have seen for a club? (Cup wins, etc)
Unfortunately as I've only been doing it for 14 months I've not seen anything like that yet. I guess the closest I've
been is watching Iceland beat Netherlands 1-0 in the Amsterdam Arena to virtually secure qualification for Euro 2016.
Also watching Watford beat promotion rivals Middlesbrough at Vicarage Road to virtually secure promotion to the
Premier League last season.
Have you ever watched any games abroad? If not, what would be the first choices on your list ?
Luckily, yes. It's amazing. I've watched a game at the Nou Camp when Barcelona beat AS Roma 3-0. Also, like I said be-
fore, Netherlands 0-1 Iceland in Amsterdam in the Euro 2016 Qualifiers.
If you were to pick a "dream XI" of players that you have seen live. Who would you pick? (teams in brackets)
Wow that is tough but I'll give it a go.
GK - Petr Cech (Arsenal)
LB - Ashley Cole (Chelsea)
CB - John Terry (Chelsea)
CB - Pique (FC Barcelona)
RB - Gary Neville (England)
LM - Eden Hazard (Chelsea)
CM - Frank Lampard (Chelsea)
RM - David Beckham (England)
LW - Neymar (FC Barcelona)
S - Luis Suarez (Ajax)
RW - Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona)
What has been the best goal you have ever seen? From PL to non-league?
That is hard and easy at the same time because to be honest I haven't been blessed with that many really good goals.
I think one of the best was Ighalo's goal for Watford against Middlesbrough which was right in front of me. The best individual goal I've seen was Romelu Lukaku against
Chelsea in the FA Cup Quarter Final this year.
What has been the best, and worst game that you have watched this season?
Hmm. The worst is easy. It was Crawley Town 2-0 Newport County. It was fairly dire. I think the best overall experience was Forest Green Rovers 0-1 Grimsby Town with
the away fans. The best football match... maybe, Arsenal 1-2 Swansea City at the Emirates, again with the away fans
Have you ever visited Squires Gate before? If so, what was the score?
Unfortunately not. One day!
Is there any grounds that you are looking forward to attending over the next couple of months?
The one I am looking forward to the most is Lens in France. I've got a ticket for the Round of 16 match at Lens in Euro 2016.
I’d like to wish Squires Gate all the best for the rest of the campaign.

different countries then be sure to have a look!

LAST SEASON
SQUIRES GATE 2
SILSDEN 0
By this point, Gate were 3 points off what they had reached throughout the pre-
vious campaign. Squires Gate made a bright start to the game and just a couple
of minutes into the half should have been ahead, good work by Mark Buchan,
who's knock down found Alex Murphy's run into the box but his shot was gath-
ered well by the Silsden keeper. Gate looked the hungrier of the two sides in the
opening half and made it very tough for Silsden to keep the ball and play their
normal game, Gate made sure Silsden didn't have time on the ball but when the
away side did get through, the Gate defence stood firm. More great play
from Harry Dunn and Alex Murphy allowed the latter to find space in the corner
of the 6 yard box but his shot hit the side netting, Gate were getting closer.
The break though would come shortly after for Gate who would take the lead.
The corner fired into the near post and with the flick on won Mark Buchan was
in the right place at the right time to flick home in what was a real poachers
goal. Silsden looked to be getting back into the game in the final 10 minutes but
Gate stood firm to deny them and could have doubled their lead on the break,
with great work from impressive Harry Dunn to get in behind at the back post
but the end product let the player down.
Into the second half Gate started as they'd started the first with alot of high
pressure not allowing Silsden time on the ball, it took Gate 7 minutes to double
their lead a good ball into the danger area for Gate Alex Murphy taking the
chance and stretching to get a toe onto the ball and put Gate two up. Gate had
to be on their toes soon after with Josh Westwood in the right place to clear the
ball off the line and deny the visitors. As the half went on Silsden had their
chances to pull a goal back first a double save from Ben Fletcher to deny them.
Then Silsden had the ball in the net but the goal was ruled out for a foul.
