This greeting is from the Rotary Club of Laurieton Inc. Dist 9650 NSW To promote International Understanding and Goodwill it is customary at their dinner meeting to raise a toast to a Rotary Club somewhere in the world – This week it was to Our Club! We thank them for their good wishes and will look at doing this at our meetings too!

It is with deep regret that our Response Team has had to withdraw from Papua New Guinea. After extensive consultation and negotiation, the team were unable to secure an implementing partner willing or able to operate in partnership with us and whose levels of access, impartiality and accountability matched our own requirements. PNG is a very difficult environment to operate in, with poor infrastructure and a complex security situation even before the damage from natural disasters. The Operations team will continue to monitor the situation and remain in touch with Rotary and the International Organistaion for Migration (IOM). All donations received for our PNG Appeal will go towards funding future disaster relief.
