By Videoconference -Fee: $10This interactive workshop will explore accountability practices of registered charities and non-pro�t organizations. Using a self-diagnostic tool, you will assess your organization's current accountability practices and start to develop an action plan. A toolkit containing a self-diagnostic pack, a handbook, tip sheets and checklists will assist you. Be prepared to surprise yourself with the accountability practices that your organization may already have. If you are a board member, Executive Director or a senior manager of a non-pro�t or charitable organization, this workshop is for you.

San San Sy, MSc. Ed, is an educator with 30 years experience in community-centered adult learning and web-based learning in public legal education for the non-pro�t sector. She pioneered the use of Internet in public legal education in 1993. She has served on many non-pro�t boards and inter-agency committees. She has been with Charity Central since its inception in 2008, using her expertise is learning design and community development to develop web-based and print resource materials to foster registered charities' understanding of their legal compliance requirements. In the past year, her area of focus is on accountability and transparency of non-pro�t organizations and charities. The resource materials to be used in the workshop are developed by her and reviewed by legal counsel.

The Wetaskiwin Olympian Swim Club (WOSC) operates a summer swim skill development program in an enjoyable and effective atmosphere. It is swimmer centered, team based, and parent supported. Swimmers learn the basic strokes of speed swimming: Freestyle, Backstroke, Butterfly, Breaststroke. Swimmers are taught proper stroke mechanics and style, flip or tumble turns, racing starts, and proper technique. Members need only the ability to swim one length of the 25 metre pool.

A beautiful envi-ronment with no stress.12 th @ 11 am – Basic Tree Pruning; This course will discuss basic tree and shrub pruning includ-ing techniques, the best timing to prune and information specific to tree and shrub varieties. This Program is to inspire our youth to use our natural surroundings for recreational activity. This two day camp will teach the basics of �shing; technical angling, �sh identi�cation, biology, knot tying, casting & retrieving, where, when, and how to catch �sh. Date: August 1&2 August 4 & 5 Ages: 7-15yrs Cost: $75.00 Program Breakdown: 3 Hours of class room preparation. 1.5 days �shing trip.

This Program will introduce our youth to many of the common sports in our society such as; soccer, baseball and basketball. We will teach the youth the importance of rules, sportsman-ship and the most important factor “HAVING FUN”. Windblown snow can create problems for rural communities, landowners, livestock, and wildlife. Snowdrifts become hazards when they block roads, leading to safety concerns for humans and increased mortality rates for animals. Properly designed and maintained mature shelterbelts can reduce these problems, capturing snow through the winter months and contributing to soil moisture retention in spring.

Shelterbelts can help curb the cost of snow removal by managing snow distribution. Reducing mechanical snow control means less labour and less fuel for operating snow removal equipment. Also, trees store carbon for long periods of time which reduces the amount of carbon dioxide emissions while at the same time providing wildlife habitat.

Community Learning Network (CLN), Literacy Alberta(LA), and Volunteer Alberta (VA) are collaborating on the ICCAN project to develop a videoconference network in Alberta.

Funding from Advanced Education and Technology’s Access to the Future Fund makes the project possible.
