STRAWBERRY “JAM”Saturday, June 6, 10am-2pm / FREE!Strawberries are in season and plentiful at Court Street Farm! There will bestrawberry themed crafts, strawberry jam samples, and even a musical “jam”on the farm!

WINE & CHEESE IN THE GARDENThursday, June 18, 6:30-8:30pm / $5Sample some wine & cheese while touring our gardens and helping us raisefunds for our Newark Youth Leadership Project. Not a drinker? WALK & TALK AT SOUTH MOUNTAIN RESERVATIONSaturday, April 18, 10am-3pm / $5Edible plants, local wildlife, history of the area, and more will be discussed whilewalking the scenic trails of the reservation. Beginners and Intermediate hikerswelcome. Bring a bag lunch.

BIKE TOUR OF NEWARK FARMSSaturday, June 20, 10am-2pm / $5Join us on a Bike Tour of community gardens & urban farms throughout the City of Newark. There will be stops at several locations where you will discover howeasy and fun it can be to grow fresh food in a city. Please bring your own bicycle,helmet and water bottle. Ages 10+ only. Helmets are mandatory!

VOLUNTEER ON A FARM!Fourth Saturdays April-October, 10am-3pm (except fifth Saturday on May 30)Open volunteer days at our Hawthorne Avenue Farm take place monthly fromApril thru October. Individuals or groups, ages 12+ are welcome. For groups of ten or more, please call ahead.

PLANT ON A FARM!Help us get our farms ready for spring & summer by planting vegetables with us!

COMING SOON: OUR DEMONSTRATION KITCHEN!Our teaching kitchen programs are designed to educate people about the benefitsof healthy eating and to make cooking fun. Students will have the opportunity toharvest food from our garden and learn to make healthy nutritious snacks.

PLOT IT FRESH, $10/PER PLOTLove to garden but don’t have the space? Always wanted to plant some veg-gies but lacked the know-how? “Rent” a garden plot at one of our locationsthroughout the city. For only $10 per person you’ll get space, seeds, and information on how to grow.

YOUTH FARM STANDStarting in May and going through November, fresh produce from our Urban Farms will be available at our Youth Farm Stands set up around Newark and the surrounding areas. Please check citybloom.org for dates and locations.

FARM STAND MEMBERSHIP PROGRAMWith a farm stand membership, you will receive bags of fresh, locally-grownproduce every other week, June through November. Convenient curb-side pick-up available!

BACK TO SCHOOL, BACK TO THE GARDENTuesday, September 29, 4-6pm / $5As the school year begins, meet with other members of the growing Newark Network of School Gardeners to trade tips, learn new techniques, and supporteach other. We will discuss our plans for the school year—and how to makethem a reality. Take home FREE SEEDS for fall sowing.
