The Wyvern Theatre’s 2013-2014 pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk was the top-selling pantomime in the theatre’s history. Between December 2013 and January 2014, over 26,000 patrons watched the show. A spectacular adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s magical story of the boy who never grew up hits Swindon’s Wyvern Theatre when the world renowned Russian Ice Stars perform Peter Pan on Ice.

Mysterious lands filled with pirates, Indians and ticking crocodiles, will transport visitors to a wonderful world of make-believe as The Russian Ice Stars bring to life the book which has inspired generation after generation.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

A new support group for people with dementia is being launched by Alzheimer’s Society at the Wyvern Theatre. The new Memory Café will provide an opportunity for people with dementia and their carers to socialise and get much needed face to face support. Memory Cafés provide people with dementia and carers a platform to talk openly about living with dementia within a relaxed and informal environment.

The Swindon Memory Café at the Wyvern Theatre is being launched on Thursday 13 February 2014 and will be held every second Thursday of each month in the theatre café from 10.30am to 12.30pm. This is a free service.

Since October 2010 HQ Theatres, alongside its sister company Qdos Entertainment, has been raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital’s Theatres for Theatres Appeal. To date we have raised £500,000 for the appeal which aims to build new state-of-the-art operating theatres at the hospital, which treats very sick children from across the UK. This money has been raised through the generosity of our audiences and the staff of the Wyvern Theatre who have taken part in various fund-raising events and activities. We will continue to support the Theatres for Theatres Appeal and your ongoing support is greatly appreciated. On behalf of Great Ormond Street Hospital, a huge thank you.

THE WYVERN THEATRE TICKET OFFICE is open Monday to Saturday 10am–6pm or until the evening performances start. We are open from 90 minutes before the performance on Sundays and Bank Holidays. We accept most major credit and debit cards.

BOOKING FEES A £1.50 booking fee applies to each ticket (capped at 6 tickets) purchased from the Wyvern Theatre, Swindon, whether in person at our Ticket Office, by phone or online. A booking fee is an additional payment on top of the ticket price that is retained entirely by the Wyvern Theatre to invest in the venue, whereas the majority of the ticket price goes to the producer of the show. Friends of the Wyvern, School Bookings and Group bookings (of 10 or more) do not incur a booking fee.

GETTING HEREBY ROAD The Wyvern Theatre is situated in the town centre 15 minutes from the M4 (Junctions 15 or 16) and the A419 and A420. Follow the signs to the town centre and when approaching the Magic Roundabout you will pick up the signs to the Wyvern Theatre.

PARKING The multi-storey Wyvern Car Park (pay and display) is adjacent to the theatre. There is also a smaller open air car park next to the theatre.

BY TRAIN Swindon Railway Station is just a 10-minute stroll through the town centre to the Theatre which is situated at the top of town.

BY BUS/COACH Swindon Bus Station is just a short 5-minute walk through the town centre to the theatre.
