Allan enters his final year of high school competition in the PRH- SAA (Puerto Rico High School Athletic Alliance). Despite a back injury that has kept him out of action for several weeks, he expects to culminate an exceptional year on the track with yet another out- standing performance at the league’s championship meet on April 29th. Last year, he capped a stellar junior year with his personal best performance at the Juegos Deportivos de Puerto Rico held at the University of Puerto Rico in June. He placed first in the 110 meter hurdles with the best time of the year of 14.42 secs. and fourth in the 400 meter hurdles with a 58.58 secs. mark. As a result of his performance, Allan earned a spot on Team Puerto Rico at the Central American and Caribbean Interscholastic Games in Merida, Mexico last November. His hard work, effort, commitment and sacrifices has not only paid off on the track. It appears that as a result of his efforts he will land a scholarship. Several universities on the island are in pursuit of Allan in hopes that he will accept an athletic scholarship to attend their school. As of now, Allan remains uncommitted. He’s keeping his options open and will make his decision when the time is right. As for now, his focus is on representing Ramey School Athletics with his customary class and pride, and enjoying his senior year with his team and classmates. SOFTBALL: Young and Raw, but Talented and Enthusiastic

All one needs to do is take one look at the current Lady Bombers Softball team to realize that this is not the same team we fielded last year. Only three play-ers, Jeanna Cervantes, Paula Marrero, and Sara Justiniano, return from last year’s squad playoff squad. Ten players have either graduated or departed. Longtime Lady Bombers softball standouts Ixzel Lozada, Nashali Jimenez. Raquel Montalvo, Liana Morales, Alejandra Pastrana, and Ashley Santiago have all graduated. In their place, a fine group of young athletes who play hard and are eager to learn. Though winless in their first four games this year, the current young and inexperienced teams’ spirit re-mains undaunted. They are as enthusiastic and upbeat as they were on their first day of practice and continue to strive for excellence. “We are working very hard to learn from our mistakes made on the play-ing field and garner the experience that we need to compete in this league”, said Coach Jose Morales. “We need to improve our defense, fielding and throwing to first base. I'm sure that, in time, we are going to resolve those problems and get the job done.” The team has gained experience and confidence as the season has progressed. “Right now the team is developing the necessary skills to perform much better offensively and defensively. The players are giving 100% in practice, are gaining confidence in each oth-er and remain highly motivated”, added Coach Morales. All the effort and work is beginning to pay off. The improvement has been notable. On April 6, the team swept the Baldwin Bulls in a double header held at Ramey. The win was accentuated by a knockout during the second game, behind a barrage of hits, good pitching, and clean fielding. This young squad is just hitting their stride with three regular season games left. Go Ramey!!!
