AFGHAN ANTI-CORRUPTION CUP 2012

16 girls’ volleyball and 16 boys’ football teams participated in the Afghan Anti-Corruption Cup

organized by the CPD and financed by the USAID Afghanistan through Management Systems

International (MSI). It means there were two tournaments; volleyball tournament of girls’ sports

teams and football tournament of boys’ sports teams. Each of the tournaments contained 16

matches totally 32 for both the tournaments.

In each of the tournaments, 16 teams played in 8 peers and tournament reached top eight. Then,

top 8 teams per tournament competed in 4 peers and the process entered the quarter final.

Quarter final means selection of top eight teams, which played in four peers to enter the

semifinal and final stage of each. Both tournaments were successfully ended in end of June 2012

according to the plan.

At the end of volleyball tournament, we had a celebration party, which was participated by the

Education Director of Kabul City, Manager of Sports Department and other high ranking officials

of the mentioned directorate, representatives of Non-Governmental organizations, MSI

representatives, National and International Media, students and teachers etc. Top four teams of

the volleyball tournament – Bibi Mahro, Sooria, Rabia and Um-ul-Banin respectively - were

awarded and cups, medals, sports’ clothes and appreciation letters were given to them.

The final match of football tournament was organized on 28 June between Habibia and Amani

high schools and in result, Amani high school’s team won the match. Final match was attended

by the representatives of Education Directorate of Kabul City, Sports Director of MoE, Manager

of Sports Department of Kabul Education Directorate and other high ranking officials of the

mentioned directorate, representatives of Non-Governmental organizations, MSI

representatives, National and International Media, students and teachers etc. On the same day,

top teams – Amani, Habibia, Nasir Khosraw and Abdul Ahmad Jawed respectively – were

awarded. Following is the details of Afghan Anti-Corruption Cup tournaments:

AFGHAN ANTI-CORRUPTION CUP 2013

Tournament was started on September 23rd, 2013 by an inauguration ceremony participated by

girl volleyball teams with their coaches, MoE officials and CPD team. The competition lasted for

8 days and finally winning teams were identified and awarded during the closing ceremony took

place on 6 October 2013.

Second Position: Malalai girl’s high school & Rabia girl’s high school

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT 2015

Identification of volleyball teams of girl high schools of Kabul city and organizing Girl Volleyball

tournament among selected teams was a prolonged activity since beginning of the project. CPD

team was in close coordination with Sports Manager of Kabul DoE for planning the tournament.

Finally, the tournament plan was developed in September 2015 and final team selection was

done on 1st October, 2015, during which 16 top teams were selected to compete. On 7th October,

2015, the tournament was inaugurated by an opening ceremony with participation of MoE

officials, volleyball teams of Kabul Girl High Schools and CPD team. The tournament lasted for 12

days from 7 to 18 October, 2015 and included 16 matches resulted in identification of top winning

teams as below:

First Position: Rabia girl high school

Second Position: Malalai girl high school

Third Position: Sooria girl high school

Winning teams were awarded cups, medals, gifts (volleyball clothes) and certificates during the

closing / award distribution ceremony conducted on 18 October 2015. The table below shows
