Maybe we watched a superhero programme on TV or at the cinema and imagined what it was like to have their super powers? Adventure normally means something a bit scary and unexpected. But having a sense of adventure is what makes life fun and is something we want to value at Tadworth. You see, learning new things is like being on an adventure. You never know where a topic will lead, and how the experience might change you in some way. It might include learning about a subject you knew nothing about and thought was really boring, until someone helped you see why it was interesting. Adventure might include visiting new places. It can be exciting to spend a day or longer away from school learning what it’s like to be in a new routine e.g. Alfriston or Sayers Croft. It can even be an adventure to get to know a friend beer – visiting their house and learning about their family. We want to develop a sense of adventure as we enter every day. You never know what it may hold. New friends? New ideas? Discovering something about yourself that you didn’t expect to find? When a group of children have an adventure in books, you often find that there’s at least one who is very reluctant and would rather be back home watching TV! We miss out on so much if we decide we can’t be bothered. It’s so much beer to be commied to a sense of adventure in whatever we do. You never know what is going to stir in you that becomes an important hobby or even career. So today, can be a new adventure. Are you ready?
