There is still £4000 approx to spend – it will be carried over to the next year. There are 4 inter-school events in the summer term and Sports Day. I am also planning to use some of the PE premium to enhance outdoor provision (Physical Development) in EY area.

Staff Training/Development• In September last year, our Sports Leader carried out a staff

questionnaire to find out where training needs lay. Several teachers asked for some input on Gymnastics so training was organised as well as new planning researched and implemented. Team teaching sessions were also organised with staff.

• Sports Leader attended several courses including Multi-Skills training, Gymnastics and Athletics. The relevant information (such as websites, planning, resources was then cascaded to staff through meetings and training sessions.

• Staff from Years 2- 5 have all benefited from a 6 week block of coaching from Jon Keynes (HHC - hockey coach).

• The Sports Leader has been released from class to work additional hours promoting sports within the school using money from the PE Premium to pay for supply.

School Sports Partnership/Inter-school Competitions

We paid £500 to join the Havant School Sports Partnership. This has enabled us to participate in a wide range of competitions (not

previously accessed). These include:• Ball Skills Festival (Years 1 + 2)• Football Skills tournament (Y 1+2) (12 Pupils) – we came 1st and

2nd in this!• Netball League – high levels of participation and enthusiasm• Hockey – We won the recent Havant Hockey Club tournament!• Football matches – Many successes this year – thanks to RG• Athletics – coming up soon… for Years R, 1, 2 and 5 / 6All of these events have proven very successful and the level of interest was very high. The following slide describes a major success for our school…

Looking forward…During the next academic year, I plan to:• Continue to build on the enthusiasm of the staff and children for PE – the school

now feels like a very ‘active’ school.• Find out what PE clubs would be welcomed by the pupils via the school council• Enter the School Sports Partnership again and increase further the number of

inter-school competitions• Improve dance teaching skills through INSET (provided by qualified dance teacher)• Use the information about pupil participation to target this group – offering them

spaces on a ‘Change for Life’ club if appropriate• Continue to offer a range of OSH clubs – both run by teachers and outside

coaches• Survey the staff (in September) to ensure training/coaching provision matches

needs. To include LSA’s who may benefit from Play training (esp. in view of Malcom Duncan leaving).

• Complete more observations/team teaching for Gym – offering support, suggestions and help with planning as necessary

• Enter the Sainsbury’s Active Mark scheme - looking at our data/participation levels this year indicates that we would be easily on track for Silver award
