About the ProgramMajoring in Sport Management gives you the opportunity to apply business principles to the sport industry. Our program offers foundations of accounting, marketing, and management principles with a focus on sport information, sport facility management, and sport organization. Highlighting the program is the opportunity for students to complete their fi nal internship with the AAA baseball team for the St. Louis Cardinals, the Batavia Muckdogs. Genesee is a high-quality transfer program that will prepare you to transfer to a four-year program. Dual Admission (2+2) Agreements exist locally at St. John Fisher College, Medaille College, and the College at Brockport (SUNY).

FacultyRebecca Dziekan, MS, ATC Director of Health and Physical Education

rldziekan@genesee.eduBecky Dziekan, who has been at Genesee Community College since

1996, is Associate Professor and Director of Health and Physical Education. She supervises all Health and Physical Education full-time and adjunct faculty, teaches courses, and develops curricula, among many other responsibilities. Prior to this appointment, Becky was the full-time Head Athletic Trainer at GCC. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Sport from SUNY College at Brockport, and a Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from Indiana State University.

Michael von Schiller Assistant Professor of Health and Physical Education

Department at Genesee Community College. Prior to his arrival at Genesee, Coach von Schiller had successful stints as Men’s Basketball Coach at both Clinton and Onondaga Community Colleges. Coach von Schiller earned a Bachelor’s in Physical Education from SUNY Brockport, and a Master’s in Education from St. Lawrence University.

Kathleen T. Gurak, MSED, CMAA Instructor of Health and Physical Education

College. Prior to Kathy’s appointment she worked for GCC as an adjunct instructor for several years while teaching, coaching, and serving as an administrator at the high school level. Kathy earned a Bachelor’s in PE, a Masters in Education, and a CAS in Administration from SUNY College at Brockport.and a CAS in Administration from SUNY College at Brockport.
